Comment:

The best professor I've had so far! He's so passionate about literacy and he genuinely cares about each of his students. I recommend you make every effort to do the reading camp rather than just go to lectures. It's hands-on and he and Dana are so helpful. Buy the thin book for camp, the big one if you do lectures; you don't need both.

TAKE HIM! He is probably my favorite teacher so far at UCF. I did not take the reading camp but I still had a great time in class. He will sometimes go off on tangents but they're always hilarious. I feel more prepared now to teach reading because of him. I wish he was teaching RED4519!

This class is awesome! I did not do the reading camp but I assure you that it is still a great class. He gives all the answers to the test the day before, there is no reason why anyone should get less than an A. I hardly used the textbook if at all. He does keep you the full time so keep that in mind if you have a class right after.

I took this class and didnt do the reading camp. It wasnt hard just unclear about what to do but hes very laid back and allows you to submit late with no problem. Exams were not hard i got A's on all of them and he does a review before each exam. Only neg i had is that he held us till the 3 hrs were done :/ at 7:30 am thats rough.

He is AWESOME! He gives you two options on the first day. You either continue going to your class time every week and take a few tests (you're allowed to use your txtbk) and turn in lesson plans OR you can help tutor students Saturday mornings (I think it's 11 total Saturdays) and take no tests but turn in as many lesson plans as Saturday classes.

He was a great teacher!! I did the reading camp and it was a blast! It was saturdays mornings from 9:30-11:00. If you do the camp you don't have to go to his class, you dont have tests, you dont use the book. All you have to do is make up a reading lesson every week and you have a partner, so we switched off on making them. Take him!!!

Dr. Blair ROCKS! He is very helpful and hilarious! Do the reading camp if you can. It's on Saturdays, but worth it. It's a great learning experience. If you do the reading camp, you only have to do one lesson plan per week and you have an A. Very easy and beneficial class!

If you can, DO THE READING CAMP! The best experience I've ever! So easy and alot of fun. He will help you in any way. No tests or projects, just the weekly lesson plans which are easy. Hard NOT to get an A. Reading camp is on Saturday mornings but is worth it. TAKE HIM!!

Dr. Blair is an amazing professor with great insight when it comes to teaching reading. I was unable to do the reading camp, but his regular class was an easy A with only four open book tests and two lesson plan projects. He let us out early almost every class meeting. Be sure to take good notes as his exams come almost word for word from his PPTs.

He is a very nice man and is extremely helpful. I chose to attend the class instead of the reading camp. His tests are all 25 questions, online and a breeze. He gets off topic sometimes but you will learn a great deal about teaching reading in his class. Do not expect him to be in his office or on campus, try emailing him if you have questions.
