Prof. Chen is probably one of the best professors I've had at U of M. You can tell she's super passionate about what she teaches, and goes above and beyond to try and make things interesting. Be warned though, she is a tough grader, and expects a lot from her students, you really have to work if you want a good mark.

This class had A LOT of information presented, but I found it fascinating and loved the course. Don't get overwhelmed because Tina is fantastic at connecting the information to larger concepts and explains them so that anyone can understand. The class was about Cultural Diplomacy during the Cold War. VERY INTERESTING.

she is super nice, there alway have smile on her face. Im an Chinese, English is not very good as native, but she give me chances to practice and marked the paper leniently, really helpful for first year student. recommend .

I absolutely loved her. She knew what she was talking about at all times and was always really helpful. If you payed attention and came to class her essays were not hard at all. She states clear guidelines as to what she wants from you, all you have to do is follow. Strongly recommend taking her as a prof!

Tina is a very nice lady + passionate about what she does. However, Her course load is far too dense. Exams are loaded with difficult unnecessary content, and it seems as though she tries to fit as much in a semester as possible, while making class mandatory. If professor Chen eased on the course load, she could easily be one of the best profs.

Amazing teacher, notes were difficult to follow sometimes; you have to type off the powerpoint and listen at the same time, she goes VERY fast. But she's extremely passionate about what she teachers and it rubs off- extremely interesting class. You really work for your mark- especially on the exam.

Hard marker, don't expect an A on any assignment unless it's absolute perfection. Gives loads of notes and won't provide them outside of class. Pleasant in class but not very helpful.

Professor Chen was great, the course was very unique and I found it interesting. She gets nervous and can be a bit hard to follow sometimes but is very very nice. Can be a tougher marker. if you think you can get along without reading the text thing again! You'll help yourself 10x over by reading it throughout because you'll need it for the final!

Very nice professor and very passionate about what she teaches. However, she expects you to know way too much content for a U1 class. It's ridiculous the amount of stuff you need to know and be able to analyze. Wouldn't be as bad of a class if the final wasn't insane. Overall, good teacher but WAY too stressful of a class.

Very nice prof, approachable after class and helpful in regards to exam/essay topics. If ask her exactly what shes looking for, she tells you making it easy to get a good mark. Notes were kinda sketchy, but she was willing to clarify if you had any quiestions.
