Lets put it this way I had to take this class. Prof. Heafner is easy to anger, has a very short fuse, is demanding yet does not meet her own grading deadlines, and is snarky. But she is demanding because our students will be demanding and her grading is fair. Just be prepared for her class and be prepared to get everything right the first time.

Dr. Heafner is on of the most dedicated faculty at UNCC. She will provide and enormous about of resources for you to use for her class and to use in your classroom when you become a teacher. She expects you to attend class and do all the assignments to get an A but it will be worth it in the end;you learn so much that you can us in your classroom

Yes, it is A Lot of work, you will spend countless nights completing her projects, but you will definitely learn a lot. She is intimidating in the beginning, but an easy grader as long as you follow her guidelines

I am going to be honest, i hated her in the beginning. She is very short tempered but in the end, you learn she does love her students. If you try hard and just know how her personality is, you'll learn to appreciate her strict nature. Overall, you love her and you cant put your finger on why you do.

Horrible class. She and Marklin should NOT teach this class collaboratively. Marklin will answer your question and Heafner will want something completely different. She is rude and mean to students. She does NOT lead by example or practice what she preaches. Too bad you can't avoid her class if you are MDLG or SECD.

Very knowledgeable; has high expectations. You get out what you put in and it sounds like some of the other posts probably shouldn't be teachers if they don't recognize sound teaching practice. She made me critically examine myself and encouraged me to reach beyond mediocre--which is what ALL teachers should do. If you don't work don't expect an A.
