I've never had Professor Brinker for an Accounting course, however, I was fortunate enough to have him for the Dominica course offered at Arcadia. Just by having one conversation with him, I came to the conclusion that he is truly a great man, and an awesome professor--he truly cares about his students! Everyone loves Brinker and for good reason!

He is enthusiastic which makes people think he is a good teacher, but all he does is read from the book. He is not helpful and if you email him all he will say is come during his office hours and then he won't be there. DO NOT rely on him for help with an internship or job! & He thinks he is solely responsible for your success when hes not at all

Had for two accounting courses. LOVED HIM! go to class take average notes and look over the book, his tests are either take home or open note/book. Easiest class ever. Only way to fail: don't go to class.

Comment:

Brinker is one of the worst teachers and advisors a student could ask for. He killed my interest in accounting and never schedules times out of his 1.5 hour window of 'office hours' to meet with an advisee. He rarely responds to emails and, if he does, writes "come see me during office hours". If you have class during his office hours, tough luck.

Gotta love Brinker! He was, and is, the best teacher I ever had. Without him, I'd be a liberal arts alumna, living off the government, because no other Professor would've kept me interested in Accounting. The best thing about Arcadia. And he really knows his material, and can actually make you understand it, which is no small feat.

Comment:

Intermediate was pretty hard, but Brinker taught it well. The tests were simply true to what the profession is like. It's not sugar coated. Tax was a little easier. Take home tests give you the opportunity to spend 8 hours looking up boring rules. Overall, Brinker has to be the best prof at AU hands down. He's not easy, but he's a total FOS.

I thought the class was easy, but obviously a lot of people didn't. Brinker is really entertaining, really nice, and one hell of a cool guy. The class is pretty hard, basically, if you aren't an accounting major. But, I do recommend taking him because you learn A LOT!!

Brinker is great. The class is not as L and F (light and fluffy) as he says, but he makes it TOF (tons of fun). Brinker is a great guy, very helpful, very enthusiastic, and very fair as well.
