Loved this man! I only took the class for a group D requirement but he actually got me interested in plant pathology. His 3 exams are tough, but he gives out study guides with all the info to study before each one. He's also so willing to help with questions to make sure everyone understands the content.

He spends all class lecturing, read the book it will help you. You never know what he'll put on the test his study guides are 54+ questions with multiple parts to them. One group case study & individual paper. Not attendance based but id recommend going b/c his slides are vague/confusing to comprehend.

Comment:

Great teacher. Evans really knows his stuff when it comes to plant pathology. By no means is it an easy class, but if you take good notes and study the heck out of the disease cycles, you will pass no problem. Yes the class can get a little boring, but overall, great guy that delivers the material in a very clear manner that's easy to understand.

Pretty interesting class - Dr. Evans was a good teacher, albeit a tad boring at times but overall a good professor. The only hard part was learning the 50 or so Latin names for the plants/diseases/pathogens.

Great guy, but boring class. This is not an easy A so reconsider taking another class. The material is very dull and it has nothing to do with the course description. HATED THIS CLASS! Horrible group D. Think he forgot this was an intro class. For final review session had the review time options DURING OTHER EXAM TIMES! Forget the review sheet too, just easier to read the darn book because he is going to make you go through it all anyway. If not a science person do not take.

My favorite professor so far. Dr. Evans is always knowledgable and enthusiastic. He definitely loves his topic. The class is clear and well-orgainized. I really recommend him for PLSC140 if you're into science and want to expand your scope.
