Comment:
This was the hardest class I have ever taken, but I also learned the most in this class then any other class I have ever taken. This is a very lecture heavy class, but Prof Sullivan is always willing to meet outside of lecture. You might get bored if long lectures are hard for you, but all in all I thought they were interesting. He's a good prof!

By far the hardest course I've ever taken. I came in with no Physics II knowledge, so that was part of it. Another part was I slacked off badly. This course is SUPER tough, but Tom is a good professor who SERIOUSLY knows his stuff. Take initiative, do your work, get help from friends, and you should pass. If not a ECE major, take a different intro.

Took 18-100 over N16 semester. Crystal clear lecture and allowed me to understand everything from a conceptual level. Allowed me to extend upon my critical thinking skills, and be more interested in electrical engineing!

Took intro to ECE with Sullivan in Fall 14. Crystal clear lectures, though sometimes fast andor make you sleepy. Homework is sometimes hard but totally reasonable and offers great practice for exams. Expect long midterms, especially Exam1. His notes are amazing: read and memorize the notes and it's an easy A.

Make no mistake, 18-100 is a weeder course: *very* hard exams and if you're drowning no effort will be made to save you if you don't take initiative. Great professor if you get to know him though. (Protip: Don't understimate HW2).

Go to the Supplemental Instruction, it was vital. Sullivan teaches the concepts, but doesnt go into to detail on how to solve the problems, go to SI again.

Knows his stuff, and moves really fast and goes pretty deep. The trick is to know when to pay attention, he shows you a lot of stuff that you don't need to know for the tests. He is generally a cool guy, though, but beware: He speaks with very unpredictable amplitude.

He's a good teach but the class is a bit too easy to fall asleep in. But if ur able to stay awak there's no reason why you won't get an A.

Extremely hard exams/Long assignments, make sure to attend every class, he is not kidding about it being a slippery slope. If you have a hard time following a concept in lecture and meet with him in his office he can explain everything crystal clear/is willing to demonstrate individual problems you are having issues with. Dislike new textbook.

18-100 was meant to be a hard class, to cut out all the students who are not supposed to be in the major, but are accepted cuz a lot of the other smart students choose to go to MIT instead. Professor's helpful if you go to his office hours. Exams are HARSH. It's one of those exams which you will be happy if you get over a 90.

Teaches the lecture for this course. Lectures were usually easy to follow. He occasionally said something extremely confusing that knocked me out for 15 minutes. He draws complicated diagrams, talks about them, and then changes little pieces, so you have to draw the whole thing again in your notes. Tests are extremely hard (weeder course).

The hottest professor ever. Good teaching and good style. I like when he touched his hair with his hand which was covered with chalk. Also very good help if you go to his office hour.
