Tom is a nice guy, but unorganized and scattered to the point that it impacts learning. Don't expect your grades quickly. Requires a huge textbook but rarely used it. Attend class, he doesn't post notes. He doesn't follow the outline, and assigns huge partner papers, which he doesn't explain. This class was a constant state of confusion for me.

Tom is a wonderful person. He is a little unorganized, but does his best to help students. You need to attend class because he does not post the lecture slides on Moodle. Hes available outside of class to give feedback on work/exams. Overall, he is a great teacher.

nice professor in person, his class (human geog) is a fair substitute for Sociology. But his assignments are formatted in a way I have never seen and the test material is unpredictable, even if you read the text and go to the lecture. Posts test corrections but you won't always get the full test back so its hard to study mistakes. Picks favorites.

He is a nice man, is super sweet, and his classes aren't super difficult but he is rarely clear in his expectations, constantly changes his mind, and exams can be hard to study for. If you need a class with Tom, he isn't the worst, but Kim or Gilles or Michael are much better choices if you can.

I recommend never taking a class with Tom. His test material was irrelevant (be prepared to memorize the most unrelated details). I was never clear on what he wanted, how I was being graded, and received marks back for assignments and tests weeks later. Always went over class time. GPA dropper! He is a nice person, but terrible teacher! UNORGANIZED

Great teacher knows everything about geography, I learned a lot in his class and the possibility of this turning into my major is great! If you attend all classes you will do well. He offers bonus marks and bonus questions to the students that come to class. So don't miss one and if you do go talk to him about what was missed, I will take him again

Tom is a great guy and excellent teacher. I don't think he gets credit for the academic he is due to his extremely laid-back style. If you take him seriously, you realize just how much he knows. Great at getting the info across too, and a kind soul. Very approachable, a genuine class act.

Really nice guy. The best way to sum Tom up is completely dis-organized. Helpful only if asked. Hard marker.

His test questions are so strangely chosen and irrelevant. He's very nit-picky when it comes to marks and never fails to go over the allotted class time. Very eager to help if you have any questions, though.

Tom obviously knows what he's talking about. Unfortunately he doesn't know much about teaching. He sometimes seems a bit lost or confused when trying to explain things and the criteria for his assignments is often baffling.

Human Interaction with the Natural Environment -Tom is fair with what he tests you on and any information he takes from the textbook he will tell you If you need clarification on anything he'll help and although he might be a bit disorganized so are more then half the students in uni. He's funny in a dry humour sort of way. Not overly difficult

Tom is a very nice guy, but topics can be very irrelevant and come exam time it is quite difficult to study for. He is a very critical marker too, so be ready. Avoid if you are easily frustrated with doing irrelevant topics.

Tom is great, I'm definitely going to take his classes again. I don't think seminars were worth any marks, but definitely mandatory due to the information he provides in them. Make sure you listen to and remember any and every thing he says; he'll test you on obscure things which he only mentioned once. And yes, for easy marks, memorize diagrams!!

He is very unorganized, and spends too much time reviewing. His exams do not fully encompass the class material, he focuses on redundant material. Learn diagrams and go to seminar. He is a nice enough man but avoid this professor at all costs!

Tom is a great guy... his classes on the other hand are very unorganized. He begins the 50minute class by reviewing material from last class for a half hour, then does powerpoint for 19 mins and then when there is a minute left he start a video- ALWAYS! Never got out of that class in time..Fair enuf marker tho, but the classes were painful.

Tom is a wonderful prof. He is helpful and very clear with the objectives of the course. Those who do not like his course are those who are uninteressted in Geography. It does take a certain type of person to truely appreciate and embrace geography. He is funny and very approachable. I I would recommend him as a prof. :)
