BORING! if you like Philosophy, don't take this class. We just learned and memorized other peoples views - no discussion. And he is the most adorable old man but he just can't teacher. Super boring and i TRIED to pay attention because I can tell he cares so much. I think 2018 was his second to last year teaching. So sweet, but wouldn't recommend

Didnt ever really put grades in the grade book. Hard to listen to but class is 50 min so its doable. 2 midterms: multiple choice and essay portion (allowed a notecard) 1 final: all essay (allowed an outline sheet of paper) Would look at other options before taking Weston

Really loves what he teaches, but class itself was relatively boring. There were occasional quizzes that were open note and you're allowed a notecard for the the 2 midterms and the final. Gives out study guides beforehand and lectures are all posted online. Relatively easy class.

Weston was a decent professor. All his classes were lectures that were pretty boring. He gave occasional quizzes that made up a small portion of the grade. It's not necessary to go to class. 2 midterms and a final. He allows a notecard for the midterms and gives the final essay prompts before hand. Pretty boring but not super difficult.

Weston was a nice guy. He talked 24/7 using a powerpoint and posted everything online so class was pointless. If you study even for an hour, easy A. Made up of 2 midterms and a final, essays for all with a touch of multiple choice. Understanding if you have a contradiction, he will work with you.

His lectures are extremely boring and it's difficult to stay focused. Skipping class won't hurt you too much, however there are a few pop quizzes that will account for 10% of your grade. There are readings practically every other class and they match up with his lectures. Two midterms (half mc, half essay) and an essay final make up the rest.

He's a nice guy, but his lectures are long and boring. I passed the class without ever reading. Quizzes are easy, common sense. Three tests- 2 midterms, 1 final. Midterms are half mc and half essay. Final is all essay, but he gives you the prompt before so you would have to be really dumb to fail it.

Phil of Science No Textbook! 2 blue book midterms and an essay final (questions are given in advance). couple quizzes on assigned readings and attendance doesn't matter. had a hard time paying attention because it was such dense material but Weston is a sweet guy. He assigns a lot of reading but what do you expect in a 500 level course?

Weston is a nice, and cool guy. However, his lectures are extremely boring, long, and confusing. Rarely showed up to class, because it felt like a waste of my time. Expect a lot of reading from text that is very hard to comprehend. Tests are hard to prepare for, would not suggest taking this class.

I like Weston as a person and he really knows what he's talking about and has a passion for philosophy. But his lectures were really boring and I found myself never wanting to go to class. He posts his powerpoints on blackboard which is helpful, just review those if you skip a lot. Two midterms and a final determines the majority of your grade.

I wouldn't take this class.. Weston is a very nice prof but his class was super confusing and difficult. The tests were half mc and half essay but the final was all essay. He gives you questions before and lets you choose which ones. His lectures were very boring and only half the class showed up... class was no easy i would take a different prof!

His lectures were kind of boring and he will get confusing sometimes on the clarity of his powerpoints but he was a good professor. His tests are half mc half essay and there are two midterms and one final which is three essays but he gives you the prompt before hand so you literally know what you will be talking about.

Weston is a very kind and knowledgable professor, but his course was difficult and uninteresting for the most part. He is wordy in his examples and is sometimes more confusing than clear. Go to class and pay attention, then focus on the study guides before the three exams you take and you will pass with a decent grade.

Weston is obvious very knowledgable in Philosophy , but being as tough of a subject as it is, he does not make it interesting at all. For a beginner class he is very wordy and easily confused me. There are two midterms and finals that basically count for your entire grade. I got an A because I studied his study guides. His teaching was not helpful.

Loved him as a person but I found it hard to focus. The class is lecture based so if you don't do well with lectures don't take this class. Very kind hearted man who is very passionate about the subject. The material was hard, however.

Professor Weston is a good teacher, but teaches a hard subject. Class is mandatory since he gives out pop quizes(5%) every 2 weeks. There's 2 midterms(30%each,20 multiple choice questions and one essay) and 1 final(35%, 3 essays and the questions are given a week before the test). Overall, avoid this class if you are not good at Philosophy.

This class is very easy, and Weston is a great, funny, friendly professor. He's very liberal (possibly a Communist; he certainly admires Marx and Mao). I rarely attended class and still received an A. Textbook is only needed for easy T/F quizzes. He allows a 3x5 notecard for the two midterm exams and final. Definitely recommend this class.
