Math is not my favored subject, but Wolters made it very easy to learn and helped me succeed to achieve an A in the class. Would choose him for another class.

I honestly have never had a professor in college that genuinely cares about his students. He really helped me grasp the lectures and always goes over questions. Moves at great pace, always goes out of his way to help. Such a great guy and teacher. If you want an easier class and a great teacher, here you go. Lets you use a cheat sheet on tests too

Tom is a great teacher who really cares about his students. You do not have to be great at math to do well in this class because he makes everything simple. He is also really funny and easy going.

TW never fails to disappoint. He is knowledgeable, flexible and always willing to go the extra mile for his students. Some ppl disagree with his approach, but I feel if you are willing to ask questions and put time into his course(s), you will do fine. Also, his practice tests are pretty much his actual tests with a few changes. Take him!

Tom is a great person/professor. The grade you get is the grade you work for, gives minimal h/w & allows you to do test corrections. His cons, IMO are that he gets off topic too much during lecture and his teaching method is you doing a lot of the teaching yourself. Ask questions, watch Youtube vids, reference the book and you'll be fine

Wolters was a great professor! The class was incredibly easy. He gave clear examples and always clarified problems when asked. Would definitely take again!

Professor Wolters was almost too easy. He lets you hand in homework whenever you want without deadlines. Is really lenient about when you take tests too. His final is extremely long, but if you are happy with your grade after finishing all 5 tests you can skip the final which is pretty huge. My only complaint is that he is almost too lenient.

He's a great teacher! He will help you if you don't understand or have any questions! He knows what hes talking about and its an easy class if you pay attention. Not a lot homework, and not harsh on the grading. Don't need the textbook if you have acess code.

If you want help you have to ask him, he allows lots of help during class, you just have to speak up. A great math teacher, the second best I've had in my life. Would recommend him, & he rocks the crocs!!

Comment:

Wolters is a very genuine and easy-going guy, this is both good and bad. Pros: homework assignments are only 2 questions each, you can use a formula sheet on all tests, you can make test corrections for 12 of all points missed back, you are not required to take the final exam. Cons: basically have to teach yourself, he is not very clear.

Once I got the hang of his teaching style I did pretty well. Only about 4 homework questions a section. He gives up points for tests and optional exam for credit. The extra credit really helped keep my grades up. Buy the access card without the book, it's all there on web assign. Quick classes. Hilarious jokes.

Didn't teach well at all, I took calculus in high school and all he did was confuse me on everything. I do NOT recommend taking his class unless you want to teach yourself.

Second best professor I've ever had, comes in right behind Frank Taba-polish ending. I liked his somewhat odd sense of humor. He knows his stuff and grades fairly. I wish I could have my math 162 class with him.

Keep in mind that, if you do not have a strong foundation going into his classes, that you will need to do a lot of self-studying (e.g. Khan Academy). However, he is *very* willing to help you succeed - giving as much time as you need on tests and homework and many available office hours. Overall, probably the best teacher I've ever had.

I ONLY RECOMMEND THIS CLASS FOR PEOPLE WHO ALREADY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. THERE IS A LOT OF SELF-STUDY HERE AND YOU'RE BASICALLY TEACHING YOURSELF. MIGHT AS WELL DO AN ONLINE CALC. II MATH CLASS. HE MIGHT BE TOO COMFORTABLE IN HIS TEACHING POSITION, AS HE'S BEEN HERE FOR SO MANY YEARS, YET DOESN'T SEEM TO PUT FORTH MUCH EFFORT IN HIS 'TEACHING.'
