Comment:

I took Dr. Eastman's Global Understanding class in 2001. It took a lot of hard work to get an A (95+). 4 hours (Summer class) straight of diligent note taking, 2 nights/week followed by a test on the at the start of the next week. Needless to say, I spent my weekends reviewing my notes. It was also the most rewarding educational experience I've had

I absolutely love this man! He is so funny and easy to talk to. I never had a problem with unexpected material popping up on his tests...more like, "Dummy! I know I studied this. Think!" His tests are challenging, lots of info covered, but the joy I got getting an A or B handed back was pure bliss. You reap what you sow in this class!

Dr. Eastman is an amazing professor. He has a great sense of humor and is a great teacher. His class isn't easy but well worth the effort. Go to class, pay attention and take notes and you will do fine. Take him while you still can!

He is very personable and funny in class lectures, but his test are the hardest I have ever taken. He puts things on the test that are not even covered in the text or on the notes. I usually make A's, but in this class, it was a struggle to get a B. Be sure to study the text and get clarification on unclear concepts. I do not recommend him.

Definetly not the easiest teacher in the world, so study H-A-R-D for his tests! Classes are all lectures. Hardly ever teaches directly from the book, however, does include material from texts in tests, so be prepared! Extremely witty personality; be ready for off-the-wall comments and casual commentary.

A wonderful scholar himself whose love of history is translated into his effective teaching skills. He is tough-but-fair to interested students. Never a lover of history before, I now BUY BOOKS ABOUT IT!! Kudos to Eastman for making me think!
