Tests are unreasonably hard and are not given on lecture material but instead on an insanely long need to know list of topics not covered in class. Lectures are useless when it comes to learning but are mandatory due to frequent pop quizzes.

He is literally one of the least helpful professors I have ever had at Clarion. Took him for ES111 online- no clear grading, tests were incredibly hard and had nothing to do with the material, not a very helpful guy.

Tests were very hard for a 100 level course. All grading was on exams, with the exception of the discussion board. The discussion board was chaos at best, no clear grading criteria or expectations other than answering the question fully. He doesn't grade the discussion board until the end and won't tell you how you're doing if you ask.

(Online Course) I wish he would assign homework. I am the type of person who learns well from that extra practice. I think It would also help improve grades overall. He had to curve the heck out of the final grade for people to pass. He's not very helpful when you have a question about something, he just refers you to a page in the book.

Pretty decent professor. He always starts out the class with jokes and funny comics to keep the mood light. Although it was a 100 level class, it was a lot more difficult than I had expected it to be. He curved all of our tests by 10 percentage points. You are required to do a presentation with another person of your choosing.

Dr. vega... Really, REALLY likes Dr. Vega. He is very egocentric. Probably the worst advisor on campus. He is the worst geology teacher on campus, wait and take someone better if you can. This is coming from a geology major, i have not ever heard of anyone who thought he was a good teacher.

ES 111 should be a general introduction to earth sciences, in my opinion. Vega teaches it like we are all meteorologists with an interest in natural disasters. While he did curve scores very graciously, I got low 70s on most of the exams and ended up with an A in the course. To me, this is an indication that he should reassess his teaching style.

Vega is a likable guy, but his exams don't necessarily match up with his lectures or textbook. He curves them a lot! The couple of challenging homework assignments helped reinforce concepts. Only took Climatology because it was required for Honors.

Glad I took his course. Even though I didn't switch majors to meteorology, his teaching and knowledge of weather and climate are second to none and convinced me I could have done it had I wanted to! Here's to Boudreaux and the 2 Liter of Coke we got from the Metric movement. :)

Dr. Vega is an awesome professor! I've taken pretty much all of his classes (he convinced me to get a geoscience degree!). If you don't understand something, visit him during his office hours, he's more than willing to help! Vega is super cool and has good taste in music :)

Very Hard Exams, but ask questions, he will help you. Study, Study, Study, he does grade on a curve, which helps a lot!! Knows his stuff! Very smart, but expects you to know your information, memorizing will NOT help you in this class.

He only gives 3 exams & 1 powerpoint presentation that you have to do. Class attendance isn't mandatory. He's funnier than hell. He's super helpful too. If you're doing bad in his class don't panic, you'll pass. He makes sure of it, like he says it's just a letter not your life. Exams are hard, so be sure to study. Overall great professor!

Lets be honest, the class is tough. You're only given 3 tests the whole semester, so you really have to work hard for the class. If you're looking for the "whats", and not the "Why/how" part of science, then this class isn't for you. Vega isn't a bad teacher, but he will push you to work hard. Overall, its a pretty decent class.

I really enjoyed having Dr. Vega in class. He has a way of relating complex subjects to mundane, every-day things and that really makes the material easier to understand. If I ever had a question I spoke with him during office hours and he was extremely helpful.

Dr. Vega is a really cool guy. He is interesting and funny and he does his best to relate to students. His tests are hard. I wish I had studied more, but that is my fault, not his. I would absolutely take another class with him if I could! He even offered to buy the whole class coffee(50+ students) during our last class meeting.

He is a nice guy. He will help you if you need it. The class is very boring. The tests are very hard, so you need to study everyday. All you do in thst class is take notes. The only good about that class is that we only have 3 tests. Just study study study and you wil pass his tests!!
