Makes a very strong effort to teach (subesquently, he is always well organized). However, someone who already knows SQL would not benefit at all from the class. Also, regardless of his effort, he still makes things extremely boring - and the final exam is not fully comprised of the same material he tested on the midterm & assignments.

Who cares about amazon's tactics? TG is quite boring and his TA that marked my paper could not speak english. The course was pure memorization and although I did very well, I forgot all the stuff the following week, just like with all the other meaningless CS classes.

watch out-TG reads these lol. Read the text & ur fine. If u can write well, ur set. In class we got in-depth reviews of the chapt's & examples from real-world. Interesting course. he gives bonus marks for attending some lec's. this past term there was no cheatsheet for exams, unlike previous terms

even though the textbook stuff was really boring but I really liked all the real world examples the prof had mentioned in lectures! (do YOU know the tactics Amazon used on its competitors?! if not, you should take 330 with Grove)

Lectures can be boring at times, but that's just the nature of the course. He says what needs to be said and the notes are useful. Exams were fairly easy, but I found marking VERY subjective (ie. prof marked some exams and TAs marked others, with huge variances in criteria and thus marks).

Despite of all the negative feedbacks, I still think he's helpful. He's willing to stay after class to help student set up and try for the presentation. Most of students misunderstand him and think he's lazy because the students are the ones who are lazy.

The lectures for CS 330 serve no purpose whatsoever. He just reads the slides that the publisher of the textbook provided. I went to half of one class TOTAL and got a 75 just by reading the book. Not a hard course but very unrewarding. Warning: two of the assignments were group assignments yuk!

Lectures are useless and teaching is boring. Questions on the exams are EXACTLY as they appear in the textbook. You get a cheatsheet on exams, and I was able to find a solutions manual online. I had all of the answers to the exam on my cheatsheet . . .it felt like I was cheating it was that easy!

Unclear about expectations. Marks assignments using criteria not specified on assignment description. Slow and lazy. Takes full 3 hours to say what can be said in 2. Staying for class is useless, except to get participation marks. Midterm & final MC from text website and you get a cheatsheet.

this class blew. I got a good mark, cause it was easy, but never go to class, it's a waste of time. T. Grove isn't that bad, but he just recites stuff from the text book, take a few hours to read that before midterm and final, and you won't miss anything, I promise.

This guy knows alot about databases. The course can be tricky at times. He was a standup guy, up until near the end of the course when he refused to answer my question at the end of class. "Don't talk to me if you weren't in class." that was
