Trevor is an amazing professor! I think majority of the bad reviews probably come from the student who never showed up to lecture or did the readings. That being said he is definitely cheeky, but his humour is rather entertaining in my opinion. Do the work and you'll love the class (and learn a lot about writing).

Too opinionated and very unapproachable. Doesn't listen well to students in class, students have to repeat their question several times before he understands. His lectures are cheesey, full of rants and yelling. I felt uncomfortable in his lectures

This man teaches like Socrates, he'll ask a question he will tell whoever answers they are wrong and why, without ever tell you what the right answer is. Infuriating at times. Very harsh and condescending, even to his TA.

Ross is great. He likes to tease people; I think this is why some misinterpret him as condescending. Of all the English professors at Dal, his way of conducting discussions seems the most engaging and effective. He is actually quite understanding if approached (because he won't approach you). He's not a hard marker, either. Highly recommended.

Trevor Ross is a condescending, sad man. He might have some good points to make, but he is too busy putting students down to listen and engage in any kind of helpful or constructive conversation. Maybe a smart guy, but horrible teacher, and not a very nice person.

Not only is Dr. Ross incredibly knowledgable in the subject areas he teaches, he is also rediculously smart. If you go to him, he will really help you, do not be intimidated. His brand of humor isn't for everyone, but give him a chance!

Hated hated HATED Trevor Ross. He made horrible sacreligious remarks about God and genetilia, and generally made the whole class uncomfortable. He was just an ass, too. Dropping his stupid course was the best thing I ever did!
