Just another Neoliberal trying to pass of Neoliberal economics as natural. Failure to realize that globalization is a problem. Neoliberal economics are what has forced the global economy into the can. Inequality is part of Free Trade. Please quit teaching Economics like this ideology will save all.

Surprisingly, i enjoyed this class since it was my first ECON class that i've taken and i learned a lot. I found the exams a bit hard though. You must read the book not just the power point slides. There were questions in the tests that were not in the slides. He doesn't use syllabus but there's no need for it since he tells you what you need to k

This "class" is the worst. Sure he makes things a little interesting with his lectures. However, like others have said, no syl, no blackboard, nothing but His book. Have not even seen my first or last exam. Does not respond to any attempts to contact him. When others came up to him in class he told them to see his TA. I wouldn't take him again

He posts slides online that are directly from the book he wrote, so you could choose to study one or the other or both. Test aren't hard if you know basic the concepts. I liked the class, his stories where entertaining and he provides historical accounts to help you grasp the knowledge. He loves cheese.

The worst class. Lecture is incredibly boring, especially if you are just taking it as a required class. The TA this semester (Becker) was snobby and unhelpful. There is no syllabus and if you ask questions that would normally be answered with a syllabus they get irritated. However, Cowen wrote the book, which can get you through the class.

Professor Cowen is a great teacher. I look forward to going to class every week! Very clear and interesting lectures. Dynamic but does not go on tangents. The class is not hard, there is no homework and no busy work. Only 3 exams, multiple choice. Only real understanding is tested, if you don't know the material, you can not and will not do well.

Great teacher. Take Cowen any chance you get!!! The author of the most popular economics blog on the planet, marginal revolution. Do not miss the chance to take a class with him. Fascinating class and teacher. Not exactly easy, only 3 grades, each one an exam. Easy if you keep up, but if you mess up its over.

Amazing teacher all around. The class is not hard, but you do have to know the material. The tests are easy as long as you have a basic understanding of economic thinking and attend the lectures. Highly reccomend him, best teacher I have had yet at Mason.

Prof Cowen is extremely hard especially if you are taking a 100 level class. 3 tests are given with the third being weighted at 50% of the final grade. There is no syllabus and after doing homework, doing all of the practice problems and going to the TA for assistance i still recieved a C+ on the test.

This is the most absolutely most boring econ class you will ever be in. He doesn't give you a syllabus. There is three test, the final is half your grade. Don't take this class if you don't need to.
