Ute is by far my favourite prof at the UofA. Super accommodating, great class structure and always available after class. Would recommend her to anyone thinking about taking German.

Ute is easily my favorite instructor at U of A. after taking back to back intro German courses i was hooked! I really wish i could have continued on with German, because she is such a great professor. She is approachable, caring, and really puts in an effort to make the student want to learn.

Amazing. She is really caring about her students and probably the most down to earth prof I've ever met. She's funny too and makes class really enjoyable. I'm not a morning person in the slightest, but if Ute was teaching an 8 am class, I'd be in that class. That's how much I love this prof. She's great.

Ute was absolutely hilarious. You definitely have to work for your mark in Germ 111 but she makes it really easy to understand. There are lots of quizzes and tests in this course but it forces you to study so you don't cram for the final which would be impossible!

Easily the best prof I've ever had. She made learning German fun, and with some aspects that is hard. She's one of those people that really makes you want to succeed. Absolutely amazing woman, would love to have again.

God bless Ute. This class was everything I hate about German (grammar!) and I still had a great time. She's extremely helpful, funny, and kind. Just - take a class with her and believe me your semester will be better for it. What a great lady. Best prof at the U of A.

It was an absolute treat to have Ute as a prof! She is very enthusiastic in her teaching, and made every class enjoyable. She has this way of encouraging everyone to participate in class, and I learned a ton from it. The tests are more than fair if you keep up with the homework. Would absolutely take again!

Amazing prof! I adore my German class. She is a great person to be around and shares interesting stories. She's also funny and never makes it boring. German can be a bit tricky at first, but it's worth it if you have Ute as an instructor.

Ute is a great prof! German with her was fun and interesting although beware she often likes to put students on the spot in class, asking them questions in German. I feel this is pretty common among most foreign language classes though. Her tests were easy as long as you study or do the optional online homework. The textbook and code costly at $180

Ute is the BEST German prof I've had! Took both 303304 with her and highly recommend!! Extremely friendly & always there to help with any questions or concerns :) My German improved SO much in her classes as well. You can tell she's passionate about the German languageculture & I appreciate that. As long as you attend class it's fairly easy!

I loved the year I had with Ute so much! She was a fantastic prof for both 303 and 304 and made a huge effort to be accommodating and kind to students without sacrificing the effectiveness of the course. Learned a ton, workload was appropriate, and she was awesome in office hours. Hilarious, approachable, and incredibly knowledgeable.

BEST GERMAN PROF. I will go out of my way to take Ute's classes in the future. She's awesome. Her lectures are fun and she's extremely helpful and fair when it comes to marking. She's always willing to help students. She's such a nice person and I loved going to class every day. This class was very easy, but fun. Take her class!

Ute is the best teacher at the UofA. She makes sure everybody understands and engages all the students of the class in a very friendly and fun way. You learn new complex grammar systems with ease and you have many laughs along the way. She is fair on everything, understanding and hilarious. If you are taking German get Ute PRONTO!

Ute is a FANTASTIC instructor. Fair, kind, funny, understanding, takes time to make sure everyone understands the material, no ridiculous amounts of homework. Oh man, I wish she taught more disciplines! Haha. Seriously, you want her as your instructor too.
