This woman is one of the greatest educators and kindest people I've had the privilege of meeting. She is truly dedicated to what she does, and manages the tough task of making stats manageable for students who would otherwise hate it.

Extremely helpful prof! After 8 months of statistics with her, I really learned a lot. 300B is a lot easier than 300A, so hold on tight you can do it!Easy A!

Draws heavily on stuff learned from 300A, stick with your prof from A! Trys to make the boring stuff fun, and is generally lively and funny. Very helpful if you see her during office hours, holds a review seminar before the final. 2 midterms, final, paper and groupwork. Gives bonus assignments.

Dr. G makes a class that should be super dry interesting! She's a little heavy on the conceptual, but is clear on what you need to know. Attendance is a must as her notes make no sense without the lecture 3 midterms and a final and group work. Take stats with her!

Gonzales is great! really helpful, supper peppy, funny examples, provides lots of practice homework questions, all around good! tests a bit hard, but no surprises. sadly, stats is super boring so dont take this class right after lunch, you will fall asleep!!!!

Great prof! I was insanely worried about taking stats, but Dr. G made attending class enjoyable. The material is not easy, and her tests are all written. She does a great job at explaining concepts, but you must put the work and study time in if you want a good grade. TAKE STATS WITH HER!!

I hate stats. I do not like the content of this class AT ALL. Having said that, Dr. G makes it almost worthwhile. She is awesome. Cute, funny, and good at her job. Excellent teaching skills. She works really hard to make stats as painless as possible. She is fair, but not easy. Stats is a necessary evil, but Dr. G is great.

she is adorable, so funny and so organized. this is tough tedious material but she is really good at explaining concepts, good at motivating, and somehow is able to make the work semi-enjoyable! highly recommend for this class.

Valerie is the best! I don't know what other students are talking about. She knows stats better than any other prof at Uvic and she gives lots of practice homework and exercises to study. You can also earn bonus marks. Do the work and read her notes and your will get a good mark!

Bad tests, something simple that you understand in class will come up on the test as a really confusing question that you get wrong. Expects a lot more from you than she will specify. The class exercises were really bad too; in a group where everyone gets the same mark and you don't get time to check it over. She also makes offensive "jokes" alot.

This woman knows statistics but not psychology. She is totally unapproachable, not a good quality in a stats prof. She seems to make her mind up about students, who's smart, who's lazy. She will encourage, help assertive students, and ignore others. She does not treat students with equal consideration. An example of an archaic teaching method.

The class is ok, the prof great but the overall course really lacks practice homework and materials. I find it so confusing trying to figure out a computation on a test when I have had little to no homework practice (never known other math classes to have such homework practice). More homework...please! That is key for this class.

Probably one of the best instructors UVic's Psychology department has to offer. Guaranteed help if course material isn't sinking in, and makes her expectations clear, with standards that parallel her ability to teach..high and non-negotiable. Excellent instructor.

A nice lady. Her "peppy-ness" gets in the way of learning sometimes. If you are looking for a straightforward look at statistics without goofing around talking about marijuana-smoking-hedgehogs etc, look elsewhere. If you like a little silliness and learn that way... then you will love Dr. Gonzales.

She is super fun, realistic and very helpful. I would take any classes she teaches, unfortunately they are only stats classes!!! You need to work, but she is fair and very peppy.
