Vivian is very helpful which is nice because Calculus is a hard course. Attend SI & class, and you will pass. She is very willing to meet up in her office for extra help and will explain anything you ask with enthusiasm. She encourages students and wants to see you succeed.

I found her lectures helpful, did all of the homework but did not do too well on the test because she makes the questions on the test 10 times harder than the examples that we did in class. She does not explain any of her lectures any more than what is already written on the slides. Not that great, but okay.

Writes paragraphs on the overhead that don't explain anything, hates if you disagree with her, never uses difficult examples to clarify theorems then puts the most difficult questions on the midterms. I tried seeking help during office hours and she was unhelpful.

SHE IS SUCH A NICE LADY. Incredible. Her teaching sometimes goes off the rails but if you actually do the assignments you'll be fine. She had an excellent SI girl this year who really helped with all the material. Good for back up in case you don't understand a concept.

Vivian is a good teacher, but she moves quite quickly in class and it's often hard to distinguish the important concepts from irrelevant information before trying the questions yourself. The exams vary, some it is clear what will be on them but others, frustratingly, have questions you didn't see in the book work. Nice lady, decent teacher.

She rushes through the content MUCH to quickly for a first year course. she assumes that by quickly solving the problems on the overhead, we gain the understanding of how to do the same. - too many formulas, much too quickly. i constantly hear murmurs of confusion and how people simply cant keep up. ridiculous. i wouldnt take her courses again.
