I found the class really interesting, she really knows her stuff and is organized...i didnt think the memorization was too bad, and the finals werent cumilitive...i would reccomend getting a lot of sleep before this class though, because she turns off the lights and puts on slideshows everyday, i had to sit in the front, a lot of note taking!!

very boring class, tons of memorization for tests and quizzes, papers are good way to help grade since she isn't real harsh with grading them, cramming for anything in this class spells doom, it was a much more challenging class than i had anticipated, the teacher hardly knew anyone's name at the end of the year

Don't take this class. Basically, you go to class, take very boring notes on many paintings, then memorize them for the test. If you don't study as you go, you're screwed, its wayyyy too much info. to cram. Pretty damn rigorous, especially since almost everyone in the room is taking it for a core req. So much to memorize...DONT TAKE IT!!!!

sooo much memorization.. really no homework, but you should literally start studying the moment you get the list of artists and their works. the papers are easy. overall, shes a really nice lady who knows her stuff.

Absurd amount of material. I never studied so much for a quiz or test in my life. It's pure memorization. However, class is very intersting. Dr. Holmes certainly knows what she is talking about. I would not reccomend this class to anyone who is not interested in Art. I do not regret taking this class , I learned a lot, but, it was not easy.

A very good teacher that knows what she is talking about. Class is pretty hard, but that is just because of the material and all of the art works and painters you need to memorize. Pretty fair grader and lets you drop 1 out of 3 quizzes in the semester.
