The best math Professor so far. He explains everything well and introduce some outside of class materials (which will not be in the test). Really helpful to math and physics major. Btw he gives many extra credits so if you are willing to make efforts, it is not a hard A

This professor thinks that his class is the only one you're taking. The material is not extremely hard but the workload is. Also he extended class time for a few weeks because he was missing a class later in the semester. Wanted us to come in on the weekend to make up a class but that wasn't allowed so ended up giving us a quiz the next class.

If you are not a math major and just want to fulfill requirements of other programs, don't take him. But if you are, take him. This guy is inspiring, respected and really loves math. Yes, his class is hard, but he gives many extra credits that you can try. Also, he really cares about students so as long as you work hard, you will get a decent grade

You can tell Prof. Bolotnikov really cares about mathematics and he is very accessible outside of class, but his homework and tests are ridiculously difficult and take a huge amount of time. He does care about his students and their grades, but he just makes his class very hard. Don't take his class unless you're set on mathematics.

I took Bolotnikov for both Linear and Multi. Linear was tough to the point where you had to put in a ton of work to salvage a B. Multi was utter hell for most of it's students. The class average was a C- without a curve, and unless you're super into proofs and don't really care about application, lectures will be almost useless. Avoid.

He's a really great guy-he can be rather short, and he moves really quickly in class, but he's really helpful in office hours and accommodating if you can't make those hours. The take home quizzes are rough, and the extra credit is sometimes impossible, but do it anyway. The class is not fun, but he's a respectable guy.

Attend lecture, read the textbook, and do all the homework problems to do well. Bolotnikov is actually crazy, but he cares about his students and wants them to learn. He does lots of examples in class and has quizzes about once every two weeks based off homework problems. Midterm was easy and had extra credit. Final was difficult, but not terrible.

I'm not taking Vlad this semester and I honestly really miss him and his eccentricities. Vlad is always available to help and there for you. as long as you do everything you're supposed to do (the hw, studying for tests) you will do well. He tells you EXACTLY what is on the tests and even gives ec. A class that you get what you put in, very fair.

Overall, I liked Vlad a lot. The class slowly crescendoed in difficulty all semester, climaxing with a grueling final. However, if you do the homework, understand the material, and do the optional (necessary) extra credit, you will do fine in the class. He was humorous and generally an enjoyable professor. Rekindled my dwindling likeness of math.

He is a tough professor. But he is by far the most available professor I have had. But he gives lots of hard extra credit (DO IT) , he's funny, and he genuinely wants his students to learn . The final was DIFFICULT but you should expect that from him. While I know I won't get an A, I'm still going to take more math bc he's inspired me to do so.

Multivariable Calculus is already a hard class, but Bolotnikov makes it so much harder than it needs to be. Incredibly unhelpful outside of class, I got accused of skipping class just because I was having trouble understanding some of the course material. If you value your GPA, avoid this class at all costs.

I've had him for three semesters now and I must say, I'm not a huge fan. Class is incredibly boring to the point where I cannot pay attention at all. He gives you exactly what you need for the quizzes and the tests but the way he asks the questions is just incredibly confusing. You really need to work on your own if you're not a math genius.

Bolotnikov is one of the best professors I have ever had. His class is extremely well structured. There are quizzes often, two midterms and a final. He likes to encourage students to extend what they know with extra credit and bonus on tests (which he always makes very long). He also has a great sense of humor, and often makes jokes in class

The class seems hard at first, but extra credit makes it easy. Lectures were ok, but he occasionally made mistakes that he didn't catch, which was confusing. Check his grading too as he made several errors on my work. Based on earlier reviews, I expected more. Maybe he's just getting older.

You would be a fool not to take Bolotnikov's class!! He is probably the one of (if not) the best professors at William and Mary. He tries to be as helpful as he can to his class, engaging them to think in ways most other professors find unconventional. If you want someone to give you a strong foundation (no pun intended) in Math, take him!! Awesome

He is a great professor who is truly interested in the material. Going to class is a must, and practicing the homework problems will guarantee you a good grade. His tests are not much harder than the problems he goes over in class

He is a hard professor. But, he will teach you correctly. He will teach you in a way that will prepare you for Real Analysis better than a remedial HS class would. He will also help you as much as you need.
