I agree with the earlier rater about him being hit or miss. If you like autonomy in how you learn the material, then you should consider his classes. If you prefer a lot of rigid structure in your classes then you should look else where.

He is a hit or miss professor. For most students, miss. I have taken three classes with him, the key is to have a strong background in math, particular stats and prob. If you don't, don't take his classes. He expects more independent learning than is the norm at WPI, however he also gives you more autonomy in tests, hw, and projects in return.

This is easily the worst professor I have ever had. Students from class presented lectures We "studied" simulation without any math concepts. Nothing on random number gen, queues or statistical tests. The professor is hugely biased, conufses concepts and refuses to admit hes wrong.

Clearly biased for/against certain students. Made us buy the preliminary edition of his own book and basically proofread it for him. But, the book is pretty good, better than most on the subject. Be prepared to learn the material on your own.
