His notes and lectures are 200% clear. He teaches you how to do all kinds of the problems that's gonna be in the test by a lot of examples. However he can be a tough grader sometime. In my midterm he took 5 points from a question because he thought one of the "3" is "2". Rewrite every mistake you make, don't just sketch your 2 into 3.

Leonard was a great prof. He was clear during lectures and was often available for help. His tests were fair and was a generous marker.

Great guy! He is very serious about math and constantly does examples. Leonard is a tough grader with lots of assignments mainly because he is warming students up who want to go into higher level math. No one hates math more than me but he makes it durable. The class at 8 AM is my biggest complaint, hard to stay awake sometimes.

He explains things very well and I understand most things in class but I barely pass assignments. His assignments are brutal and he doesn't teach how to do specific examples like on the assignments. He's okay but he wouldn't be my first choice of prof.

Very tough grader, doesn't like giving part marks. Not very helpful one on one. Not much personality either, other than cracking the occasional joke about people failing the course. He also speaks really funny, and it's really hard to listen to. It started to drive me nuts as the semester went on. Wouldn't recommend.

Extremely good prof! Uses so many examples so you understand each possible problem. Assignments are BRUTAL, i had to hire a tutor to help me pass them. However, what you see on the assignments will be the absolute hardest you will ever see. The tests are fairly easy. attend class, you`ll need to. He also uses lecture capture, which is awesome.

Excellent at explaining. He teaches purely through examples, and does many for each type of problem. Very sarcastic, lots of dry humour. I found my tests were marked slightly too harsh, but most lost marks were my own fault anyways.

Dr. Leonard is a fantastic prof. Really breaks the course content down into both theory and examples, very clear and easy to understand. If you have to take Math 1000, I highly recommend taking his course, even though it's normally at 8am, he's worth it.

Spends a lot of time talking about how stupid & incompetent he thinks students are, very sarcastic, it gets old quick. Assignments are very difficult. He does not teach well.

I have too say that I was a bit intimidated by him at first but after going to get help on my first assignment I realized that he was actually very nice and willing to help! He gives great notes, and although assignments are tough they prepare you for exams. Get to know him and you'll be set!

Excellent proffesser. I really enjoyed his class. He can be sarcastic and humorous which helps keep you awake in the 8am slot. Teaches with examples which really helps as it's extra practice. His assignments are very hard however and often force you to think out-of-the-box, but they are do-able. Not for everyone, but I would recommend him.

Counting down the days until I am done with this guy. He teaches by giving examples, not using theory. Constantly talks to his students like they are incompetent. Assignments are difficult and often have problems not related to the two examples taught in class. Do not get this prof if you at all enjoy math or want to do good in this course.

He's alright I guess, his assignments have nothing to do with what is taught in class, tests are okay, and he can be a bit rude at times. Wouldn't be my first choice for a math prof!

I don't care for the way he teaches; very little theory, very heavy on memorization and step-by-step methods instead of learning how to think about problems. Calculus doesn't have to be this bad.

I think a lot of the people who give him bad comments are people who generally don't like math.. if you have a decent understanding of algebra prior to taking calculus, you shouldn't have too much trouble with the course. Assignments only have a few questions but they really make you think and prepare you really well for tests/the final.I recommend

To give the guy some credit, when he would explain examples and definitions in class, I understood them. When it came to assignments/tests, there was no possible way I could win. I failed everything. I liked math before this course, now I never want to see any other math course come my way again.

After being in a class with a teacher who was concerned about his student, with helpful notes and assignments that were related to the examples given in class Leonard was a kick in the face. If you feel like passing this course and not paying $1000 in tutors do not get this guy. He's a jerk and will ruin your math career for life.

This man is really good. He loves math and knows what he is doing. It helps that he has a wonderful sense of humour. He doesn't teach many courses, so he is always around to help you out. If you need to take math 1000 this prof should be your first choice.

Pretty funny guy, not purposely but just sort of is. He's one of the few proffs who actually does the examples out step by step. From what I heard from other profs who taught the same course this guy was good. He was sort of hard, and the whole department hauls the final out of their.... but he was bestkind.
