I got very dissapointed with Elali. He was not helpful at all. He is a nice person, but not a great prof. Actually one of his TAs turned out to be a much better teacher. To get a good grade, you have to do everything by yourself, read the book and practice a lot with the problems from the coursepack.

Wonderful teacher for finance, fun, helpful, but not an easy A class over all. However, do as he tells you to and you'll do well in the course. He's awesome, and make sure you visit him during his office hours, he will remember you, if not by name, but by face.

although i think he was pretty good, i think everybody overhypes him a little bit... i mean i guess hes as good as its going to get for finance, and he is a very nice person, but if youre not into finance dont go into his class expecting miracles... the first half is easy but then it does get pretty hard

He's the funniest teacher ever and really makes the topic simple to understand and interesting. He makes the midterm extremely easy but the final will kill you. He's a very reasonable and intelligent man, but getting a hold of him can sometimes be difficult.

elali is by far the best prof i've had. he is a good man, an exc instructor, and fair marker. the midterm avg was an 80... not b/c it was easy, but b/c he teaches well. final was very hard though, you need to know your stuff. that's about the only critique i can make. best class in core, best prof

He is the best prof that I have had at Mcgill and probably one of the best that I will have. He wants his students to do well and he is soooo nice, and also funny. By going to class you will not just do well on the exam you will also get a good knowledge about finance.

A great teacher! Midterm questions were'nt surprising and straight from class work, assignments, and samples. Final was much harder - you must know it all. This class should not have multiple choice tests - can be very tricky. You must know your stuff. Questions repeat - find old tests/asgnmnts
