Comment:

I took him for both COMP B2 and COMP B5. He's a tough grader but not unfair. For example, when you send your assignments in, he'll get back to you on what you did wrong exactly. His extra credit is very generous giving you a full 5%. His tests are hard, but it's mainly a cumulative of what you learned in those chapters. Good professor overall.

He's a cool guy, you do homework every chapter but its super easy. We had 1 report that is 3pages long. The only problem I had was the test. It was too long but at least it was open book. Only like 2 people finished, so don't take too long looking up answers. Also you take a quiz when class starts so don't be late and take notes for the quizzes

Many of the people who struggled in the class I took with him were the ones who were late, never showed up or didn't pay attention. He goes kinda fast, but if you can't work a computer in simple ways, you should learn first. You can't blame him completely because the school's computers are horrible, be on time to be on pace with him.

Dropped this class today. He get frustrated easily. My friend had a medical emergency and i had to take her to the health center and they emailed him for us and he had the nerve to call my friend and tell her if we didn't like his class don't show up. he didn't tell us our test was open book until the day of the test and nobody had their book.

HE IS AN AWFUL TEACHER! Took him online and he doesn't explain anything and when you email him to ask he is short and very rude! He assigns so much work and expects you to do a chat room every week, but of course it is by his convenient schedule. He has a end of the semester topic report that is REDICULOUS! Wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy

I cannot say anything good about this professor. He briefly explains his Powerpoints if he feels like it that day, what he actually does lecture on usually has nothing to do with the loads of homework he assigns. His knowledge is dated, he talks badly about students, and he's bitter about a lot of things. It just seems like he's sick of his job.

This guy was an awful teacher. He was no help at all, and lacked the necessary people skills to be a teacher. I gave up on going the last third of the semester, did all my homework, turned it in on the day of the final, took the final and left. Do not take this class if you like to interact with people.

He assigns a lot of homework. Book is a must. All his tests were timed. Don't be lengthy on your test answers and you might be able to get through it.Had an A until finals, didn't have enough time to finish because it was ridiculous. Difficult to understand him in lectures because his voice is low &raspy.Your homework will smell like an ash tray.

Professors like these prove to me that there is no point to grading in certain classes. I also had a borderline higher grade and he ignored me. His class is not hard, but he wants to make it seem like that. His grading seems to consist of how many A,B,C,etc...he wants to give out rather than the context of your work. Has poor people skills.

I agree somewhat with the previous comments. His class online is not hard, but the professor wants to make it seem like it is. He does have a grading scale in his website, but the grades consist mainly on his opinion of you and how many A, B, C, etc...he wants to give. It is professors like these that make me feel there is no point to grading.

Do not expect to deal for a better grade if you are borderline of a better grade. I only needed less than 7 points to get an A and the professor did not even respond to my emails. I took him online. I think I know now why he teaches online. He has no people skills and the grading is inconsistent. He grades you depending on his attitude.

I could not figure out his grading method. At times he gave a 9/10 on homework, but other times when I put less effort he gave me a perfect score. You have to keep up with homework and online lectures. Only way to get an A is to be on top of everything, but he tends to keep you at a border line A to keep you studying and doing homework.

Tests are on things you did not even study yet! He is VERY SHORT with his answers when helping you. Homework is a must but then again that is how we learn so I did not mind that part. All in all if you keep up with the assignments the class is not all that bad. The chats are a bit much to keep up with. He responds to emails quickly.

Teacher was really helpful but I found it hard to stay awake in class. And unless you get what he's generally talking about you'll be lost for a while. And if your having trouble getting the book for the COMS B2 class you can look at it online at scsite.com just go to computer concepts then find the book and go to online companion.

If you want to lear about how to fix computers then this is the class to take. He is a very good teacher and an easy A if you do the work. Lots and I mean lots of homework. All quizes are take home, but they are 4 pages front and back, mult choice, fill in the blank, and short answer along with a lab assignment to be done at home.

ONLINE - Good class, learned quite a bit. Never met Wally in person, but he always answers emails asap. I really liked the setup of the class with the once a week online chat for discussion questions on the current chapter. I would definately recommend him for this class.
