Great professor, very knowledgeable in the subject of Computer Science and he understands and relates to a lot of modern material. If you have any sort of coding background, the homework will be easy. However, the midterms and tests are brutal, it really requires you to understand exactly what a piece of code does, relative to it's machine code etc

Waqar clearly knows the material. You must pay attention in class in order to pass. He will drop subtle hints on what to expect on exams during lectures. Overall he knows his stuff, course content is boring to me personally though. Go to class, pay attention and take notes!

His lectures are really informative and he is a pretty funny guy. With zero programming background you will not find any of the given homework hard. His midterm and final though require you to understand the very core of how a given piece of code works, at times this will be really tricky remembering all the little details.

Really enjoyed Waqar for COMM 351, class was actually really enjoyable, group projects were the worst part but other than that it was good. Midterms and Finals were really easy and other assignments were a breeze. Would definitely recommend taking him, as he was one of the best professors I had at UNBC

Expects you to have some background in programming. As someone completely new to computer programming, I did poorly. I tried my best but Waqar is not able to get down to my beginner level. He is nice enough but the material was not appropriate for an introductory course.
