This prof never provides notes, instead he talks about his experience working in Esso in 1980's, and asked you to do Matlab without teaching anything about it. He is retired but it is unfortunate he is back to teach Enviro Sys again at Guelph. The human being and professor ever at University of Guelph

At first I found him very intimidating. Once I went to a few classes and got to know him I found him to be very approachable. His tests are hard. He will ask questions in a way not seen before, which is very challenging if you're trying to just memorize the theory. You have to understand the material do to well. As it should be.

Very knowledgeable. Lectures are tough to sit through but he does a great job in the labs. He is super approachable, even though he may not seem that way all the time. Great prof and well put together course!

He has a bad rep because he's tough. Lectures are a little dry but he teaches in such a way that forces you to learn and understand the material. Probably learned more from his course than any other. He definitely makes it seemingly pointlessly difficult as possible, but if you put the time in it can be pretty rewarding.

Can't stand this prof. his lectures are boring as hell, and he just talks about his life the whole time. Do yourself a favour and just read the textbook for his class, thats all the final is based on. If you want to pass, just make sure you attend all the labs.

Smartest Prof. I've ever met. He drops wisdom in every word. Literally the hardest tests I've ever written though. I put in hours and hours of work, but every question was like doing the rubiks cube ten times over.

lectures are pointless but he takes pictures everyday to see who shows up, so probably best you try to go. if you're going to buy the book get a group together and share it cause you'll only need it for the final! look up 'stivered' on urban dictionary, it explains him perfectly. gives minimal instruction, but knows who you are.

The only time you'll honestly use the textbook is to study for the final, it serves no other purpose, but the final was directly based off of it. This was the only class I ever slept in that semester, the material isn't terrible, but Stiver doesn't do it many favours. Not a bad prof, but definitely not the best nor my favourite.

He loves when we compete with each other, which is horrible because most of us engineers in Guelph love it because unlike Waterloo and others, it's more about challenging yourself than being competitive. But he is kind and would help with anything. Don't attend lectures, not very useful but he does give a real life feel to engineering.

Lectures: waste of time,he talks in circles. Make sure you attend class though because he knows who you are. Problem sets are key get the solutions from upper years seeing as he doesn't change them... much. When asking him for help he'll dance around the question for 20 minutes because he wants you to read his mind. Scrounge up every part mark

Warren is amazing. The only people who don't like him are the people who don't really have what it takes. When I was younger I thought he was terrible, but as I grew up a little I realized that this is a case of "less is more". You will sweat. You will panic. You will learn. This guy is the real deal, but only if you are ready for it.

His lecture can be interesting cometimes. His lectures never teach you what you need to know to finish his assignments which are always ambiguous. He comes off as being very arrogant and you can't win an argument against him.
