Comment:

I took Dr. Akey for Math 103 and it was the best choice. If you attend every class period it helps out your grade, even though its not mandatory. He's a very nice man and is willing to help any student out! If you go to class, complete every homework assignment, and turn in the extra credit, then you will easily pass the class.

Dr. Akey is a very nice man and he is very fair. however he is hard on hearing and it is very difficult to hear him and understand what he is saying. this class is awfully boring and the work makes no sense. a student could never go to class and copy all of the homework and still never pass the tests because they are pulled out of nowhere.

Dr. Akey is the best math teacher at WVSU compared to the other math teachers. If you try hard, do every assignment, and hardly miss class, he will pass you.MATH 103 He was good in there too. I made the mistake taking someone else and failed math 105..so i will take him for now on..I'll be giving that review next. I love him! I recommend him.

I have had Dr Akey for 103 & 105, and he was amazing for both classes. He is the cutest old man ever! He is extremely sweet and is always willing to help. He also has a sweet curve! By far my favorite math teacher at state.

Not a big fan of math especially this particular math I tried out and I still am not. The class didn't boost my interest or make learning fun for me at all. The instructor is very nice though and fair and will work with you, but I found the class boring.

Dr Akey is a funny character who is the typical profile of a mathematician. He is rated hard because he gives an overwhleming amount of busy work. The textbook is used only for homework assignments.Although he can be exasperating I can't help but like him as a person. Don't care for his teaching style or technique.

He's different,for sure! He's not clear in what he teaches. I had to teach myself from the book. So why am I paying WVSU for that? Anyway, know the people in the chapters and what they did for the history of math. Pay attention to the demonstrations he uses in class. You will likely need to teach yourself how to work the problems. Good Luck!

I absolutely love having him as a teacher. He's really nice, helpful and I don't have a problem understanding him. If I don't understand how to do something, he's always really great about showing me how and if he forgets to go over certain types of problems he will the next class. He deserves an A+.

He is not clear at all when he teaches. I done all my homework and still came out with only a C. I failed almost all my tests because I basicly had to teach myself, because he does not teach well. He doesn't know the math himself. I asked about a prob and his answer was I don't know, I only look at the answers out of the book
