Unique teaching style (read hard). Requires a lot of work and previous poster obviously didn't give it enough effort. If you give it your all not many classes are as rewarding. Will never turn you away from his door and will spend as much time as you need

One of the best lecture CS classes I've ever taken. Very informative and not boring whatsoever, which is odd considering how boring the material can be. Definately a guy who rewards effort and participation. Do all the work, you're guarenteed the grade.

Wayne is a brillant man. This is what makes him a difficult teacher. Forget everything you know about the ability to BS a teacher. Is fair with grading but it does not hurt for him to know you on a first name bases. WORK, WORK, WORK is the only thing.

Be prepared, this class is hard. Great lecturer, knows his stuff. "He will know what you know" so put forth the effort. Effort is rewarded and so is participation. You will learn alot, especially if you have to take it more than once.

You either like him or you don't. Me, I think he's the best prof in the department. Lectures are engaging and informative. He is very patient; explains concepts well. Rough tests, difficult assignments, but grades work themselves out if you show effort.

He is tough no question, great professor though. You will learn a lot!!! More than in any other professor's course. One comment: he types and writes everything very fast, needs to wait or ask a question to see if everyone wrote it down before erasing.
