Comment:

I took Dr. Yunghans' biomembranes course a long time ago (1996, I think), and although it wasn't the most organized course, it changed my life. He presented what was known about lipids and membranes in a way that enlightened how I view biology, and it very much guided my career. I would love to have taken more courses from him.

one of the worst. Doesn't review or explain things well, everything is based on tests, which have things that were never taught on them. is not helpful in or out of class. Nice enough, but that doesn't make up for being a bad professor.

Very smart individual outside of class. That being said, avoid him at all costs unless you are part time and can devote your time to studying under other Bio majors. Study sheets are useless and are not accurate. Tests are disorganized and pictures too dark to see anything. Be prepared to drop or take a GPA hit.

In this class, you will teach yourself the material. He does not give notes, not any organized lecture. He talks about random rants and DOES NOT talk about the material on the tests. He won't answer your questions for you, and his study guides are worthless. His tests are extremely hard and the questions are random. DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS.

Worst teacher I have ever had. Everything he teaches has nothing to do with what he tests you on, not that it matters- his lessons make no sense and are impossible to follow. Review sheets? Those are no help either. Tests are ridiculous and so specific. Avoid him if possible. If you cant, I suggest bringing a good book or other HW for class instead

He goes off on random rants, he teaches you more about chemistry (his actual major teaching profession), doesn't prepare you for tests, stutters on every word.., must i continue? Horrible teacher. Talks very slow and lectures are confusing. He gets off topic and talks about the most random things. Doesn't curve test grades even when half the class fails. Draws diagrams that aren't even useful. Avoid this teacher.

I would not recommend this teacher to my worst enemy. I used to be good at Biology, after taking this course, I know nothing. His tangents are long and useless. He doesn't teach, he just talks, and this is a course for Education majors. Worst teacher I've had so far.

This professor was one of the worst I've ever had. His study guides do not help on tests at all becuase they are too broad. He is so monotone and goes off on tangents that have nothing to do with the class and spends 30 minutes on things that he tells you won't be on the test. Firstly: if you are taking a bio course for a CCC requirement, DO NOT take it with Dr. Yunghans, he will forever ruin your opinion of biology. That said, he is hilarious in an unintentional way if you talk to him outside of class. Can't teach but is crazy smart. Exams are vague but he grades so easily. He won't hurt your GPA, just your brain.
