Comment:

Dunford is a little lacking in the lecture department, however, if you take the time to thoroughly read his notes, prepare for the labs, and attempt the weekly quizzes by yourself you should do fine. He takes a more conceptual approach, rather than a calculation-heavy one, which some students find hard to adapt to. Overall, a managable professor.

He is a poor lecturer, but extremely knowledgeable. If you prepare for lectures and see him one on one when you have questions, you'll be fine. Doing the assignments completely, and making sure you actually understand them, is key to success with Dunford. No surprises on exams, at all. Better than Linares for ELEC342!

The only words to describe Bill are "genuinely terrible" His homework solutions are frequently incorrect His lectures don't make any sense His notes are just a solid wall of text that spans 15 to 20 pages. The stuff you actually need to know can be condensed down to a few lines. The notes make no sense. Worst professor I've ever had!

Professor Dunford is by far the worst teacher I have had. His notes are garbage and full of mistakes. He rambles on in class about unrelated topics and provides no useful examples. Asking him a question is a total waste of time. He should stick to research and stay away from teaching.

Smart guy, seems to be very knowledgable on the subject. However, his notes are very vague, walls of text that don't flow. You are better off looking up information elsewhere. Keep in mind though, the questions he asks on midterms and his exam are not found anywhere aside from his practice exams. Save yourself the headache and just avoid this guy.

You really have to get a solid intuition for how electro-mechanical machines work in EECE373 to do well. Dunford is extremely smart, but he makes many assumptions on how well we know the prereq material(so not entirely his fault). He is a good person though and will go out of his way to help you if you just ask. Tip: Read the textbook

A lot of people complained that he was no help. His notes really are not that bad, and between those and the problem sets, you'll learn what you need to know. Class is for supplementary information. Class average was about 35, but then scaled to around 68. The material is very easy, if you care enough to look over the notes and problems.
