Good luck. Concentrating on his voice and discerning whether what he says is important or not is the biggest challenge. Also, time how long it take to answer a question. He goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on. Just do the handout problems and you'll do ok on his quizzes.

CONS: Pop quizzes are pretty challenging and he gives a lot of those. His lectures are long and confusing because he's very smart and goes on these tangents. He is a savage and call you out for sleeping. PROS: Doesn't make us write every single lab, sometimes just the excel counts the owl homeworks into grading so you can boost your grades up

All he does is lecture. Sometimes we have double periods for lab and he will use it all to talk... Most of the time I end up zoning out and teaching myself the material with the endless handouts provided. My favorite quote after asked about why we had to teach ourselves a topic for the exam was, "sometimes that's how education works."

This guy is literally able to talk for two hours. Sometimes, the work is helpful. Other times, he explains one concept for 30 minutes. Good time to nap, or, download some games, stay in the back, and just play. Look up from time to time, but he won't ever go back there. Go to EI or anywhere else, because you will fall asleep.

Professor Heuer is quite monotone but a great guy. He grades fairly and for lab that is what you want most. Quizzes are fair but difficult. Great teacher for lab.

Comment:
His monotone lectures were hard to sit through without falling asleep. His notes were okay, but you really had to study them and look for the more important things. Every time we called "attention on deck," he would pause, look around the room, and it would be the only time he would smile because he would soak up the formality that we must perform.

If you ask him a question to clarify you will end up even more confused. If you ask him a yes or no question, you will be listening to him go off on a tangent for at least 10 minutes. I had to learn the material on my own.

He is knowledgeable in his area of expertise but that's where it ends. He is long winded, talks in circles, and exceptionally monotone. Will help if you ask for it but brutally boring and expects you to just understand a lot of the time.

Lacks enthusiasm for the course. Does little to allow us to ask questions and easily strays off topic. Not recommended.

He abstains from teaching and explaining basic material, preferring to go on tangents on subjects without relevance to the course. Does not prepare you for exams or his own assessments.

90% of the class is asleep within the first five minutes. Very monotone. Smart guy but doesn't understand that his students are there to learn BASIC chemistry rather than super advanced useless chemistry.
