Professor Katcher is a nice guy when it comes to telling stories and talking about conspiracy theories, but at the end of the day I'm there to learn math, hear not stories. He shows power points straight from the book and edits them as he goes along in class. He doesn't explain how to do problems but when he does you end up more confused.

NEVER take him. Goes through slideshows that he doesn't make without explaining the math. Talks about everything but math. Has a couple quizzes and a final. Quizzes have abstract problems that you would never know how to do. Went into a quiz feeling confident and only could answer 1 of the 15 problems. Drop his class as soon as possible.

Professor Katcher is a nice guy, but not a good teacher. He gives 5 quizzes and a final but the final does not count if it doesn't help you. He uses powerpoints he doesn't make and talks mostly about conspiracy theories and random subjects besides math. Does not understand how to teach and many people do badly on his quizzes because he does not tea

Doesn't actually teach anything, just rambles on about conspiracies and how bad the world is. Just talks about headlines he finds in the New York Times. Gives weekly pop quizzes with two random questions about topics not discussed in class. Only two assignments that affect your grade are the project and research paper. Do well on those, get an A

Worst professor on campus. He is smart but clearly doesn't understand how students learn. He always lectures and is very aware people are falling asleep. He puts little effort into class. He uses powerpoints he didn't make, assignments are almost never graded until finals You will have no idea how you're doing until the end. Yet he gives A's easily

Hopelessly boring. Doesn't grade anything. On the last day of class he still hadn't graded any of the 3 hw assignments or one quiz we took.

Graded on 4 HWs and 4 quizzes. Final is optional and can only help you. Prof. Katcher is very brilliant and knows a lot about EVERYTHING. Unfortunately, I learned most from this course from reading the textbook on my own. Class notes are hard to follow and aren't always helpful for the HW and quizzes. Not always sure what to expect on quizzes.

Professor Katcher is very interesting. He knows his stuff and he knows a lot of stuff about a lot of things. one of the most intelligent professors that i have encountered. His class is interesting and if you have an interest in government or computers or technology or anything like that, this is the class to take, full blown respect for this guy.

Absolute worst professor I have ever had in my life. If you are not good at math, don't take him. Luckily, math comes easy for me, but he just rambles about nonsense. One class, he took up forty minutes talking about the Bill Clinton & Monica Lewinsky scandal. I got an A from prior knowledge only and stopped showing up by the end of the semester.

If Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons was real, older, less mobile (rolling around on a chair), and clean-shaven/bald, he'd be this guy. That being said, he's an interesting teacher who knows his stuff. And he can be funny.

If math is not your strongest DO NOT take him. He sits behind the computer and reads math definition, which will not help you on the quizzes at all. When asked to do math problems, he only causes confusion and sometimes he doesn't know what he is doing.

Honestly went to his office hours every week, including seeing a tutor more than once. Rambles on about nothing during class (not math..)and then says how bad everyone is doing and that they should seek help from him/tutor. Maybe if the quizzes weren't 100% of your final grade and looked NOTHING like the homework everyone wouldn't be struggling.

He's the guy you want if you need to get CSC out of the way, and have little interest in it. You'll do almost exclusively Office programs, which are easy assignments. Most of the class is comprised of his anecdotes, which are pretty good stories (though usually more life-lessons than related to the subject). Optional final (to help grade) too!

I honestly do not think I learned a single thing in his class, but it was not very difficult either. I think he was well aware that at 8:30 in the morning almost every student looked comatose and didn't want to be there. I did like how he incorporated current events/issues into the class though.

the man is smart, but he does not enjoy teaching. asking a question is like pulling teeth and you are likely to get a sarcatic response topped with a condecending tone. he is **** and loves ignoring gyus who raise their had in class. the class it self is easy, team up with a classmate and get the short assignments done, pretty much no reading.

Tries to take ridiculous points off for assignments. he doesnt teach you the material, just assigns it and expects you to know how to do it. Expensive hardcover book was mandatory for class but havent opened it once, dont bother buying it. If needed borrow it from another student.

The first and last assignments are difficult. I went to his office a few times and he was always willing to talk and help. SIT UP FRONT, he will like you. Most assignments are easy, get A's on those and you will get an A in the class. The final doesn't even count which is nice. Overall easy class, with a good professor.
