David Myers is an interesting man. The syllabus seems pretty structured, but the class as a whole is beautiful chaos--the readings are interesting but not really sure where they were going. Grade is based on participation and a group project. Very few instructions given, but he will give guidance in office hours if you go. Sends emails day before.

A very disorganized professor: long readings (100+ pages) emailed the day before class, no prompts for projects, no grades given back until the class had already stopped meeting. He's got a good sense of humor, but that doesn't make up for the class being a mess most of the time. If you get the chance to take a different professor, consider it.

Dr. Myers is a very well read and intelligent professor, but it's very possible that one's experience with varies according to several factors. He might come off as abrasive at first, but if you can impress him with your ideas or prose, you'll win him over to your side. My only complaint is that he would send readings the night before class.

he is a pretty chill guy, but he sometimes tries too hard to be funny. hes really disroganized and lets you know a few days in advance when the next paper is due (a week later). it caught ppl off guard and sometimes he came off as sorta pretentious when he belittes struggling students, like he literally puts them on the spot. overall good course

BEST professor at fordham. You WON'T regret taking him. His class is so interesting, and he is the nicest, funniest, sweetest, smartest person ever. He is passionate and knowledgeable, and really makes history fun and enjoyable. You will want to listen to his lectures, participate in class, read the books, and just learn because of him.

Goodness gracious, what a man. Intelligent as all hell, knows something about everything, and even on what was presumably a vacation for him visiting at my school, he was an absolute rock star. Thank you so much, Professor, hope you enjoyed the chocolates.

Favorite. Professor. EVER. He makes history incredibly interesting and fun, and is a great person on top of it all. Assigns long readings, but they're all interesting and you'll be glad you did them. Seriously, you can't do wrong taking any of Myers' classes.

Awesome teacher! He makes history easy and interesting. Not to much reading, but good to get it done. I had three papers, short, but must be good. Three in class debates that are awesome! I uber recommend him.

Dr. Myers is FABULOUS. Takes a great interest in individual students and fun class discussions. The 3 papers are all on really interesting topics. The mini book my class wrote for the final was one of my favorite assignments at Fordham thus far. TAKE HIM! for this course or any others.

If you go to class, pay attention, and participate in lectures he will love you. Bring your books to class or he will pick o n you. It is easy to get a good grade he really does not want you to do worse than a B. He dropped the lowest quiz grade in our class and will try to help your grade if you ask for help.

Myers is one of my favorite profs at Fordham. He's easy going, hilarious, and makes a potentially boring subject incredibly interesting. I even enjoyed most of the readings that he assigned. He really helps you to understand historical events, instead of making you simply memorize facts and dates. GREAT professor. Highly recommended.

Prof. Myers is extremely intelligent. He is also extremely disorganized. Most of class would be spent talking about his spring break. When he did talk about the material, however, he brought up brilliant insights. He's not the best teacher, but my interest in the material increased because of him.

This guy is the absolute man. He's hysterical in class, if (or because)somewhat scatter brained. He's great, take him if you can. And yeah he's also a genius.

Myers knows his stuff and can be funny. He really wants students to do well and is accomodating on papers. He is however very disorganized but not too hard. He gives mostly B's and B+'s, he even says it. All he gives is 4 papers, 3 quizzes and the final. Quizzes and final r pretty easy, papers he is more hard on grading.
