This class was really simple. I suggest taking it. You have 3 major tests and 1 research paper. He's a really interesting professor. Take Lots of notes- the tests are fairly easy. Dates and Ppl are super important! Loved the subject.

Great teacher, with an interesting, dry sense of humor. Straight lecture, non-cumulative final. I loved the class; the only problem was the research paper, which I found difficult.

Straight-up lecture class style. Sutton shows up and talks the entire hour and covers alot of material, but has the ability to make in interesting and very funny. Tests are not too difficult, mostly names and the essay (which he gives the prompt ahead of time). Not the easiest class, but definitely entertaining!

His lectures are like stories. The exams are matching, recall dates of reign, and essay. There is a research paper that has much flexability. This class made me more interested in English History!

His lecture seems to go on forever! Don't miss class because he covers alot in one day. He doesn't really lecture. Its more of a story, which is kind of different. Probably not the best class to take at 8 in the morning, but any other time is fine.

I took Dr. Sutton's class this semester and let me just say go to class! He does not check attendance but it really helps to go to class. He is a great professor, very easy to talk to but his test are a little tricky, make sure you read every part of the assigned chapters :).

It was very hard to understand the lectures, the tests were neither from the lecture nor the readings, very difficult, tricky. I studied all the time and it was good for nothing, don't take this class if you want to have nice history experience.

Bombastic teaching style. Kind of like an old time Southern Baptist 'Fire and Brimstone' preacher. Which I found quite irritating. I stopped going to class because of it. Some people liked him. For my grade, I came out with a B.

Very good teacher fascinating lectures history comes alive. I hated it before Dr. Sutton! You must go to class, listen, take notes, and READ the book and assigned readings and TAKE NOTES on the book in order to ace this class. Must have a grasp of concepts, not just able to rattle off facts. Master that...easy A! Great Prof!

Very Very good speaker. It was very hard for me to catch on to the material he puts on his tests. Tests are difficult and you have to prepare for them in advance.
