I've taken 3 classes with Professor Watson. CRI365, CRI385, and CRI386. He is my favourite professor. Hands down. He is an amazing lecturer even though he does not use slides. I would take his class any day. His assignments are always marked fairly and he is always available to talk to and ask questions. He has the best crim classes.

Best professor at U of T! Not only was the content of the course very interesting, but his lectures, although dense, are very easy to follow thanks to his charisma. Very helpful and very caring. The material is very hard but he i very clear in the explanation.

One of the nicest and most helpful prof. His office hours are very helpful as he patiently answer all questions in details, and always have extended office hours. He cares and respects your original thoughts and gives very inspirational feedback and insights. Really enjoyed discussing with him. Not from Crim but wish to take more classes with him.

Definitely my favourite prof in the whole Crim department (the rest just blurb around about political correctness). For 385, pay close attention to the first 2-3 weeks. They are key to rest of the course. Fair marker, extremely flexible with office hours, and funny in a witty, very British way. Get ready to think outside the box.

Very open-ended test questions, just takes some time to get used to how he wants you to see things for the course.

Professor Watson is my favourite prof at UofT without a doubt. I have taken two of his classes so far and plan on taking two more with him this year. Average course load. He is a fair marker, a great lecturer and you will learn a lot. I would definitely recommend taking any of his classes but you do need to attend lectures.

Watson is a great lecturer, but you have to attentively listen and take notes! He often moves around from topic to topic so paying attention is key to do well! The topics are quite interesting.

Lectures are long & dry and half (probably 3/4) the time you have no clue what's going on. Also, he likes to spend 30-45 mins every class recapping the previous week. However everything eventually comes together & its not an extremely difficult or time consuming course.

Took all of Watson's classes throughout university! He knows his stuff and knows how to present! The only thing is that he doesn't use slides, so you have to go to class. But it's a lot of fun! Highly reccommend.

One of the best, best professors on this planet earth. Professor Watson is a world class prof whose brilliant wit, humor, and passion for his course shine through along with how much he genuinely cares about his students. He is a very fair marker, a great lecturer, and what every prof should be like. UofT's favourite by far!!!

Prof. Watson was epic. He really delved into complex topics in an easy to understand manner. It was tough in the sense that he has a pretty strong british accent and does not use power point so we had to scribble down notes ferociously for the 3 hours, but he was awesome nonetheless. He gives practice questions for the test which help A LOT!!!

He's a good prof, very wry in his humour, nice and willing to help his students. Lectures could be hard to keep up with at times, although he usually ended early. The course was too theoretical in my opinion, but it had some interesting parts to it. Didn't like my TA, though - brutal marker. Difficult to get an A unless you try very hard.

He is an amazing professor. Very approachable. Attending lectures is not an option: there are no power points, and the readings do not align completely with what is being taught.
