He was an amazing lecturer, but take good notes for good reference on your papers. Do all the readings for the many pop quizzes, if you do the reading you pass the quiz. Somewhat heavier grader on quizzes and papers because there are no tests.

The title Theory of knowing sounds like it would be a difficult class, but Dr Zarnardi shines in his ability to develop his students minds to be political leaders. He does this by asking you to be yourself. I recommend that if you like an easy A and the appreciation of wisdom in the practical world, then take any of his classes.

Brilliant professor - can be hard to follow at first. Do the assigned readings and you will be okay. Studying is not necessary, quizzes are open note. Go to his office hours if you don't know what you're doing and he will walk you through it. He can seem intimidating at first but he is very friendly and wants to see his students succeed.

Very knowledgeable professor. He is exretemely passionate about philosophy and will make you follow his thought patterns in a way that will surprise you. His lectures are fascinating and have helped me formulate a new way to understand the world. He speaks very well and elucidates topics beautifully. One of the best professors I've had.

I had a very hard time in the beginning of the course trying to understand him and his readings. No tests, and the papers can be as little as 2 sentences for an A. He's out of this world smart so it's very hard at first trying to decipher what he says. Overall he's very helpful and very nice.

Pretty confusing at times, but he helps as much as he can. Lots of short readings, short papers, and tons of extra credit opportunities.

This class was quite difficult (c'mon, it is philosophy after all) but he was very good at simplifying material for better understanding. Actually read the assigned readings and you should be fine. I highly recommend taking a class with Zanardi because there's a lot to learn from this guy. Understanding is a matter of making connections.

He is very hard. I dont understand how the book relates to the major assignment at the end of the semester. He would rather mark your paper then really help you in a way that you can understand.Tough Grader.

I am also an A student, and I would have a 4.0 if not for Zanardi. He is very abstract and intellectual, but I understood his ideas: for the most part they are fairly simple, just worded in the most complicated language possible. His real problem is that he is unclear about expectations for assignments, at least in the class I took. Avoid him.

It may seem hard, but hang in there, it?s not that bad. You only have 9 short papers (1-2 pages) and a few pop quizzes on the readings. No other work. There are no tests or a final exam. Lectures seem hard, but he will simplify everything before assigning a paper. Brilliant man, willing to help you with anything. Cheers and good luck.

VERY intelligent. Kind of assumes you already know the material. It's kind of like listening to some one talk in another language sometimes. You HAVE to pay attention, take notes, & do your homework in his classes! If you slack off once, you'll be behind and it'll be extremely hard to catch up. GREAT TEACHER & GREAT CLASSES. very interesting stuff

I just took Ethics & Public Policy with Dr. Zanardi. The material is not very easy nor is it easy to digest but the class assignments are very reasonable and Dr. Zinardi will help you out when you need him. He is very nice and has a great sense of humor. I recommend him as a teacher as well as the course Ethics & Public Policy.

TO PHIL MAJORS: This guy is probably the most crucial to understanding philosophy and developing a new way of seeing the world. Absolutely crucial. TO NON PHIL MAJORS: He's hard, but it's for the best. He won't give you the answers, but you will find yourself thinking back on what you learn in his classes. ALL: He's amazing.

Took Zanardi for Ethics & Public Policy. It's the first class I had here that seemed WAY over my head, but that's just the nature of the material. You'll be fine once the class gets started if you pay attention. Zanardi is def. worth taking (he's amazingly intelligent). Also, ditto on what the reviewer below said about the notes.

Yes he is hard to understand, but once you get used to it you will learn alot. If you are not a philosophy major I can see how he would be intimidating but its really not a big deal. Word to the wise when taking notes he frames the whole lecture on the board b4 class, don't write anything until he underlines and explains something,I learned that.
