Interesting class. The books aren't always the best but you learn german culture through them. He is a very nice prof. Just participate and he'll love you. Take notes and repeat it on exams. He loves literature and is very excited about what he does!! Take his classes!!!

Very helpful/approachable. He really****the key issues, doesn't require you to know/memorize any of the extraneous detail. Likes to mix media (movies, books, papers, music, discussions, projects, etc.) and is able to make history breathe a little - what was daily life like? A really sweet guy.

Nice person, extremely knowledgeable. Be prepared to do several oral presentations! My only issues were his limited office hours (bad if u live off campus or work), and that he didn't give much of a review before exams. Overall great teacher though.
