Dr. Kinsner is a tremendous human being. His lectures are unfortunately too complex at times and leaves students bored. However, he does his genuine absolute best to improve everyone and inspire students. Don't expect an easy ride, but u get out what u put in, and if u allow him, he will teach u all that he knows.

Try to follow the lecture, you will learn a lot not only the knowledge but also the thinking. The lab is essential. Since so few PhD or master students work on embedded system in this university, theres no TA you can rely on. You must try hard. Think and overcome. If you want to work on embedded system, try your best and do not give up.

By far, the absolute worst teacher I've ever had. He has gotten too old and has no idea how to teach or run a class. Legitimately a joke the university still lets him "teach". Not a single lecture had anything to do with course material, note package is over 1000 pages of non- descript diagrams. Coursework and labs are hell. Good luck lol

Dr. Kinsner is a very accomplished engineer. However in his courses, his lectures are almost irrelevant and the labs are outdated/poorly planned. Just make sure you understand the practice tests, do your best with assignments (some are long), and put a decent effort into the lab report. It's not a hard course, just a little convoluted.

Brilliant professor! His accomplishments are beyond your imagination, he has lots of patents in his expertise. You can tell that he is a genius because his family are also smart, his 5 years old son even knows how to build a computer. He doesn't care if you know the course, but if you understand it, you and him are best friends. He plays piano too!

Lectures are boring because he just go through slides and talk about it without writing anything. Hard to concentrate during the class because sometimes he talks about unrelated topics.

He is definitely a brilliant man, but he cannot teach. He basically sets a timer and just prattles on about his own accomplishments for an hour. Lectures are very dry, and he gets sidetracked too easily.

Dr. Kinsner fully expects you to do your reading on your own and attend the lectures to gain insight and listen to learn. He demands good work but you will end up with a working knowledge at the end of a course with a high mark, not just an "idea" of the material. Employers say his grad students are excellent, they know how to work hard and learn.

Brilliant professor, you can learn a lot from him if you do a lot of pre-study and listen to his lectures for insight. No free lunch - he demands high standards, does not suffer fools, but work hard and he will help. I know people who graduated and say some employers recognize his grad students as top quality and will seek them out to hire.

People give him a bad rap because he has high expectations of people. He wants all of his students to be engineers and pushes very hard. You can learn a lot from him if you want to. You can also just go to lectures and look at old tests and do fine. With this class, you really get out of it what you put into it. Don't buy the book on Aurora.

The man worked on spacecraft electronics in the 70's...he knows his stuff inside and out. He is an old school prof, the textbook and notes are there for you to study, lectures are for you to listen and gain insight into the field from his expertise.

Extremely demanding prof. Worst notes I've ever had. I loved ECE 3610 and looked forward to ECE 4240 but he's the reason I hated it. Gives you things to read for the course which are about thousands of pages (seriously) and expects you to understand each and every aspect of it. Good luck if he's your prof. Self-study is a must.
