this professor is a good example of why there should be different tenure tracks. 1 for RESEARCH and 1 for TEACHING, maybe even 1 hybrid. Strong researchers like Zhang should NOT teach if he cannot teach. Same vice versa.

This class can be challenging, and even though he's hard to understand, going to class helps you keep up with the material. Definitely study old exams to help you. Also, the TA was awful, she could barely speak any english.

if you want an easy A, take him. recycles old exam quests. I basically studied practice exams and did not learn material well. DO NOT TAKE IF TAKING MCATS. horrible teacher; covered only ~8 chaps.

If you want an easy grade but not learn anything, Xumu is your man. Will not respond to emails, not helpful if you visit him after class or during office hours. Maybe this is because he can't speak English. I dunno. He wants a Nobel Prize.

Joke of a class. Very easy class, hard material. This guy is brilliant, but cant communicate and has a very large language barrier. His tests are just like the practice, with some questions even the same. If you want a grade with no knowledge, take him.

I'll give him credit on being incredibly smart, but he is a lousy teacher, the only day i would actually go to class was when the TA was teaching, and he was GREAT. i would learn everying that Xumu tried to teach in the one class the TA taught. sometimes impossible to understand, He is obviously at the school to do research

This man is a joke. He seriously doesn't care about the class at all, and he totally makes it clear by being ambiguous of what will be covered on tests and not responding to emails at all. On the other hand, if you're looking for a good grade with minimal knowledge, take it with him. I barely passed Maslak's class and got an A with this guy.

im not sure if he changed his test style, but exams were nothing like practice ones. this man is an idiot, doesnt respond to emails, and lies about what's going to be on the exam. even bought nittany notes and still have to drop. i got a b+ in maslaks 38 class if that puts any persepective on this.

If you want to get a decent grade without needing a good understanding of o chem for the future, then Xumu is your guy. His lectures are rambling and incoherent. His tests are easy, based entirely off of the old exams, which he gives as practice exams.

This class is so easy, if you have to take chem39, take it in the spring with this dude. His lectures might not be that good...but his tests are straight from the practice exams and verry easy. Curve similar to Chem 38 w/ maslak.
