I learned pretty much nothing in this class. Malaiya read exclusively from the slides. Quizzes often had "correct" answers that conflicted with the answers that were given in class. You can often find identical test questions and quiz questions on the Internet.

If the only way you can avoid taking this instructor is by cutting off your own arm, then pick your least favorite and go, because that is way better than taking a class that he teaches. His lectures consisted of reading off the slides and I (a 4.0 student) was lost from day one. I've learned NOTHING in class and little more from the book. Horrible

Yashwant is not a good dissertation adviser. He is never available to discuss research. My progress on dissertation was slowed down considerably. He never agreed to my chapters. Later he suggested to include unresponsive committee members. The only good thing is that he keeps funding you no matter what.

very hard to understand. all tests were curved because the average always ending up being in the low 60's. material is boring and is a good example of a class that would make people who thought they were interested in computer science want to take something else. The material is bland, but the professor just makes it so much more unbearable.

I felt that he was a good, effective teacher who really knows computer hardware and assembly. His knowledge of the topics in CS 270 seems high and the tests and assignments are pretty easy in that they don't take long to complete.
