Comment:

Kwong is a good teacher, he's a bit hard to understand and has odd humor but for such a complex class he makes the tests fair and going to class definitely helps. Quizzes were infrequent, but exams are based on homework.

Comment:

Professor Kwong is an amazing professor. Expect detailed lectures that explain complex topics in simple terms. However, do note that it is very important to attend his class and participate. He is likely to give pop quizes if the class attendence gets too low. If you do plan to take Differential Equations, brush up on your Trigonometry before.

Comment:

He is the best professor in the math department. He makes the course easier than what should be. Focus on his practice exams if you need to get good grade. I took with him Calc III and DVQ. Also, he gives easy extra credit on each exam (20pts some time 25 pts).

Kwong is an amazing teacher. Has a bit of an accent but he is incredibly good at describing things. He offers extra review sessions outside of class for the 3 in class exams and the final. Plus he provides practice exams that are very similar to the exam. Understand how to do all the problems on the practice exam and your good Tests are long tho

Although he really is funny, he's pretty hard to understand. Has a thick accent and really bad at explaining. Is NOT generous with grades! I barely understood what was going on in class and I attended EVERY lecture and I'm usually great with math. I had him for calc 3, I got an A in calc 2 but barely passed his class.

One of the best professor to have. He really cares about you knowing the material and he makes difficult concepts easy. His class is also entertaining and he makes a ton of jokes to ease the boring--ness of math.

There are good math professors, and then there are professors like Kwong who make the good professors look like amateurs. Kwong is the best math teacher that I have ever taken. He explains things so well, he only needs to do one example to get you to understand a complex idea. He cares about his students and makes jokes in class. Take him!

For such a difficult class, Kwong makes it bearable. His lectures are not boring. He tells jokes and has funny ways to remember complicated formulas. With Kwong as my teacher, I felt it was easy to learn calculus! Also, bring him some barbeque pork

Comment:

Kwong is hilarious and funny. He is a great teacher who explains things well. He is big on notation, but also won't mark down for silly mistakes. If you pay attention in class, you'll do fine. His test are exactly like the review problems, and he also has a separate review time if you need the extra help. Take him, and you won't regret it.

Prof. Kwong likes to tell stories and tell jokes. Will not remember your name, but is willing to give help outside of class if you ask for it. (Go to class, do the homework, do his study guides, and go to review sessions) - recipe for an A+, otherwise Math 230 is no BBQ pork.

His accent is thick but he isn't teaching English so you are fine! he is a great calc teacher. His notes are great and he makes the tests pretty close to his study guides. Overall a really good calc 2 teacher much better than my calc 1 teacher. He knows what hes teaching. Definitely recommend him.

Comment:

Once you get used to the Chinese accent Kwong is a great choice. He is quirky, funny, and an overall nice guy. Wrote me a letter of recommendation willingly. As far as course material goes he explains concepts well and sets students up with a good base of knowledge to take on upper level math courses. First positive experience with math i've had!

This class is not BBQ pork. Projects are extremely time consuming. Assignments and tests are much easier. Ask questions but be prepared to have the answer yelled at you like you are dumb. He wants you to learn and will let you redo projects and tests for partial credit. I would do some book work on your own it will help explain his methods.
