Younes does not recognize his students. He complains about not paying attention but doesnt pay any attention to his students. When you answer a question incorrectly, he will slap you down with a no without explaining why. He wont acknowledge correct answers and will go on and explain how nobody pays attention. Worst prof I've had at York.

Pretty rude, a really hard marker, but an amazing lecturer that answers questions much better than most others in the ITEC program. Definitely have to understand the material thoroughly, memorization isn't good enough.

Good lecturer but a terrible marker. Many profs look at where they can give you the marks in your answers but this prof focuses on where he can deduct marks for you. This is not a hard course but he seems set in trying to fail a large percentage of the class each term, presumably so that he still has students to teach in his next class. Avoid him!

I am a B average student but this guy seriously is the hardest market I have ever had. He's very tough you have know to virtually memorize the lectures if you want to get a good great in this class. I got a D+ and had to work my butt off to get that. All my other ITEC courses I got B or B+

Take it in the summer if you can. If you cant do that record the lectures since he rushes through material sometimes. Make sure to have detailed notes as lecture content is not all on the powerpoint. Not as rude as previous years but still a terrible marker. Even if his definitions are outdated make sure that the wording is exactly the same.

Very difficult marker. Does not communicate online. Course is based off a textbook from 15 years ago. Avoid this prof if you can. If u cant record lectures and write good notes from every lecture

Clear lectures. He is very rude and not approachable. Extremely hard marker. Seems to have made improvements compared to the past. Dont do optional assignments since majority fail it. Avoid him if you can and take it in the summer.

Good prof. He actually teaches you and references concise slides. He's quite strict on the marking (even grades spelling, grammar and syntax). Pay attention to lectures and you'll get an A.

If you are lazy, don't want to learn, and dream for getting and A by just studying the day before Final then Prof. Younes is not for you. But if you need a clear guideline of what to expect in every deliverable then he is the best person who explains word by word. I got A in his course and the secret is write down "EVERYTHING", or RECORD him.

One of the toughest prof's I've ever had, probably top 3 in hardest courses. He is really an excellent professor, makes you work hard for the mark, and you learn a lot. The text is somewhat outdated but it's good. Do not hand in the optional assignments, the class average is below 40% for those. The class average for midterm is about 42%.

Younes is harsh in grading and his attitude. I did not find him as clear as others claim him to be. He was constantly running out of time and he was explaining everything too fast to be comprehensible. Also, his labs were waste of time. He would make you stay until the very last minute of the class, ignoring people who need to catch their buses.

Makes course material unnecessarily difficult. He is extremely rude and everything he teaches is outdated. Horrible marker and expects you to regurgitate everything he says in lectures on the exams. Tons of memorization in order to do well. I would never take any courses with him. If you can, do steer clear of him.

If you know anything about networking, you will not do well in this class. That's because the material he teaches is outdated and in some cases even incorrect in today's technology. Those who do well simply memorize and regurgitate without questioning. Quite possibly the most unfair marker you'll ever encounter. Good luck.

One of the best professors I've encountered at York. Learned soooo much from him. He is very clear, answers all questions and lectures are extremely organized. If you focus on the lecture slides and take notes in class, you can easily get a good grade. Also, dont cheat on assignments!
