Comment:

Prof. Mehta is one of the toughest profs I have ever had. He is very hard on his students but teaches phenomenally. You definitely learn from his class but he drains you in terms of papers and homework. There are quizzes every week so be prepared and from notes in his class. Only thing I didn't like is that he values quizzes more than real learning

Comment:

In this class, I learned that the phrase "That is very important, write that down" will cause me to forget whatever Dr Mehta just said. And he isn't going to repeat it, there is far too much to cover. Write down as much as possible about 'why'- why things happen, property relationships, and trends. Memorize all of that for exams and you will pass.

Comment:

Don't let the 2 credits fool you, you'll have to do as much as any 4 credit course. Mehta teaches at an accelerated pace that makes following along pretty difficult. Quizzes and tests can sometimes be unfair and labs are hard and graded even harder. Be ready to hear the same corny phrases over and over again. Good luck, you'll need it :)

Dr. Mehta will make you work for the grade. He is one of the best professors I have had. HOWEVER don't ever take his class lightly. Each week you will have a cumulative quiz on anything and everything you have learned so far. He looks for exactness in the answers. Study your butt off and do what he says and rewrite his notes after class. It helps.

Think you know anything about concrete? WRONG! You don't know the first thing about concrete. "Fast and loud" is the only way to describe Dr. Mehta's lectures. My notes look like the illegitimate child of hieroglyphics and the Da Vinci code but i did (unwillingly) learn a lot. Good luck and may god have mercy on your soul.

Comment:

Great teacher, really knows how to make you want to do the work, but it is never easy. He will work you until you are cold and dead, but it is definitely worth it. Especially if you are CEE major, everything you learn from him transfers into future courses, so its better to learn it all from statics.

You will simultaneously love and hate him. Really great guy, asks for the best you can offer. He will push you and he is hard, but you learn so much from him! If you have him for Senior Elective, his Asphalt class is VERY difficult, his general transportation class is fairly easy

Dr. Mehta is one of the best professors i have ever taken. I am in my second class with him and i have never learned more in my life. His classes are very hard but he makes them interesting. He wants to help you. Anyone who gave him a bad rating just wasnt smart enough to cut it in his classes. Overall a great professor and a GREAT guy.

Hard as hell, don't expect getting a c or higher in the class unless you study 6-8 hours a week just for his class. He pushes you to the limits and beyond, makes students loose alot of interest in engineering, especially asphalt.

In my 3rd class with him. Extremely hard professor, but you learn a lot from him. He does go fast at times, but slows down if you ask him too. More willing to help than most, but also expects more out of you than anyone else. Hard, but worthwhile.
