Wonderful, a wonderful educator, friend, and mentor. Inspired me to become a NYC public school teacher which I am currently. It is my fervent hope to infuse just a bit of the humor, intensity, and clarity into my own classroom that Prof Lopez had in his own. BU has extinguished a true light of education among many many dimmed bulbs.

Its a Shame BU made him leave. He was a really great guy. His class was always intresting as he taught something he loved. He did not like if you yawned in his class which was a trick on not doing so at times. I miss him as he was one the best teachers at BU. I hope where ever he is that he is doing well.

An incredibly compassionate professor, he really cares about helping out his students. His battle with the administration has been bitter, but he truly defines a caring person. Just do the reading and pay attentiont in class!

He has serious issues but he's a great teacher. His classes are easy IF you do the work. He's so insecure most don't take him seriously but don't make that mistake. He means what he says. Do the work and you'll be fine. My whole class failed except 2 of us. The two who did the work. We got A's.

Professor Lopez is a great professor. We need more like him! He knows a great deal of Latin American History and is always willing to answer questions. He is an asset to the History Department and it is a shame that he might be leaving at the end of the semester.

So long as you attend class regularly and read the books it should be possible to get at least a B. Lectures are well organized and short. Main warning is that he doesn't have a chip on his shoulder, he has a quarry! So be very polite to him at all times.
