In a department that kind of blows, Resnick is one PLSC professor that does alright. His presentations are clear, his lectures can be captivating, and his exams are fair. However he can be closeminded and encyclopedic. By default, Resnick is a good choice for PLSC at WWU.

very clear powerpoints, all online. tests can be confusing, his wording is awful. tends to repeat the material. stuck in his views (profs should not explain to the class their views, after class, ok). doesn't stop saying how great free markets and globalization are. challenging, but good. lots of reading but doable

Comment:

He's a cool teacher and very funny. His lectures are interesting, and he's very clear about pretty much everything. Exams in PLSC 271 are mostly multiple choice and overall very easy. Exams in PLSC 376 are all essay, but they really make you reflect on everything you've learned and make you memorize the material. He's very nice and helpful too.

Resnick is great! The best part is when he tells people who he clearly doesn't agree with to stop talking. Or he just cuts them off, or stops them with a hand gesture. They deserve it anyhow, they're CLEARLY wrong.

Resnick is cool and all, but he's very stuck in his views (free markets) and it's hard to argue with him, which seems very narrowminded. He'll make ignorant comments in an attempt to joke around. his class was frustrating but very informative too. (he also repeats himself in his lecture throught the quarter... we get it, globalization is great!)

Amazing! Great lectures, some got a little boring but most profs are had to listen to for an hour and a half. Great job of making something complicated easy! Highly recomended! Great enthusiasm!

resnick is SUCH a good professor! hes enthusiastic about the class taht he teaches and it shows. He does a good job of keeping the lectures interesting (give or take some days) but all in all he basically is AMAZING. be sure to read the book and when you take his tests...just know that they are a bit tricky! you wont regret taking this class.
