Adrienne is still teaching at SVA? She taught a class in my first year there, back in 1975. I was a photo major and I don't remember the content of the class, but her insights have stayed with me, not only throughout my photography career, which is still ongoing, but has also influenced my life.

Adrienne doesn't sugarcoat anything. That being said, if you are easily offended or bothered, don't take her class. She tells it like it is and I know some people do not respond well to that. I personally enjoy her and respect her views. She strives to make you think past your preconceived ideas of the world around you. Love this class.

Great course in changing your vision, if you're open to new ways of seeing the world. Students with a lazy mind and no ambition beyond getting a job resent Adrienne's challenging honesty. I'm grateful I had the chance to study with a true original.

She is extremely hypocritical. Hates capitalism but loves Starbucks. If you don't side with her you immediately become an enemy. Her class harbors lazy students who look for an easy way out. She uses her classes as a therapy session. Students regularly brought in incomplete work and Adrienne never cared.

adrienne opens your mind to get past what you didn't think you had to. her thoughts and experience help you solve problems with your work through outside thinking. I am not only a better artist, but a better person. The students who have problems with her are stuck in their beliefs at an early age and stubborn. she gets you ready for life.

She is not too critical of your work. She usually likes everyone's work..if you can explain your "thought process" of your work. She is also very narrow-minded. Biggest waste of time. I have never seen a teacher make so many personal attacks on students and try to pass them off as being "open-minded". She spent half of every period sharing her condescending opinions on life, politics, and art, and the other half making useless remarks about the "anything goes" artwork she made us do.
