I took this class in the 70s and still remember him. That's right, don't leave Athens without him. He is one of those rare individuals who dares to thrive outside normative standards. He makes life more than interesting.

I say his class is hard because it's hard to keep up with. Autopsical Art was an art piece itself. This man is a genius and those who say his class is meaningless are they in themselves so. He's incredibly sharp and intelligent. Best art professors here at OU for concept. OU is such a waste, more over for letting Eldridge retire. Great class!

AE taught me to SEE and to LISTEN. He taught me to trust in VISION. I took him for painting and drawing classes in the early-mid 80s. One of the only teachers who ever inspired me.

I took two of his classes in 1992, my Junior year. I sat and waited for either mensa or the news cameras to rush the classroom. One assignment was to make a face out of a pizza box. He wore a sweatshit with an arrow pointing to him because he was targeted. FYI, he was an All-American NCAA Cornerback for Michigan.

Not for close-minded people. It seems as though he is crazy and jumping around with thoughts, but you take notes and read over them after class you can connect all the dots and have your mind blown. He is a genius. His class is easy, but you must attend and NOT be late.

His ideas are disconnected and seem nonsensical, but he IS intelligent. Ex: He knows all about the medical causes of goiters & used the word Zeneth to mean North. Zeneth, by definition, means the highest point of a summit. To get an A: come to class regularly, sit up front, and be a good sport by participating in the discussions & laughing at his jokes. Otherwise, you'll most likely get an A-. Also, he'll think you're disrespectful if you bring a laptop, work from another class, or Sudoku puzzle and strike a bad mark against you. And yes, he can see what you're doing even if you're in the very back row.
