This teacher is horrible don't take him!!! I've did all the work and went to class everyday and I'll be lucky to make it out with a B. He makes u participate in class discussions so if that's not ur thing don't take him!! He shouldn't be teaching at all whoever hired him didn't do so because of his enthusiasm he's as alive as a dead leaf!

As a JRN major I was a little dissapointed in the class. We spent about 90% of class talking about current events and very little learning correct skills in newsreporting. He lets you do rewrites which are really helpful. Hopefully you know a little bit about reporting and writing before hand because thats what helped me.

good professor...pretty laid back...has a dry humor...class is kind of boring...a lot "little" writing/assignments...doesn't like people being late for class...allows rewrites...recommended

His grading scale does not make much sense at all. He makes you do rewrites and grades them, but doesn't take that grade into consideration. So you might as well not do the rewrites because your still going to get the same grade anyway.Dumb class!

Prof. Fisk can come off as scary at first, but he really is a good teacher. He has a different approach to teaching that gives a more realistic view of JRN. I recommend not buying the book. As long as you do rewrites, you will do well in the class.
