Alan Rose is not a very good teacher. I wonder why he switched to this profession. He has no patience with other viewpoints. Has anyone but me noticed that he wears his outfits for at least 2 days IN A ROW. Fine, they may not be dirty -- but put a new shirt on! It just shows how horribly uncreative he is.

This class is not very hard so long as you show up and do the assigned readings. He is a fair grader on the papers and willing to talk with you about your grade if you have any questions. He does lose my interest every now and again... but his class comes after a long day. Nice man & quality teacher

A terrific teacher. He expects a lot; I had a hard time at first, but I put the effort in and really learned a lot. He'll help if you try too. Mostly I learned how to learn. He isn't an entertainer, but an old fashioned prof. He is very funny if you can appreciate dry subtle wit and kinda cute too.

My least favorite class (and I'm in a military science class that I've come home from with bruises) by far. It's one of the only classes I have where attendance is more or less mandatory and I can barely handle showing up. Not my idea of fun or a good class, though it's easy if you can write.

He has high expectations, but they are not impossible. I found him very insightful and even though he ripped my papers apart, his criticism was, in fact, correct and helpful. If you take him, you have to work hard. Bottom line.

Loved the class. Rose encouraged lots of dicussion and was open to everyones interpretation of the material. He does stutter, but I thought it was cute. Sort of reminds me of a cross between Mr. Rogers and Einstien. I liked him.

I thought Rose did a pretty good job as a prof. His class was very boring, and the lectures were monotonous. His grading is very fair, and he's quite helpful in his suggestions. If you suck at writing, don't take the course. Simple as that.
