Comment:

Dr. Boulten, he's an interesting person. He won't shy from a political debate and will voice his beliefs; however, he will give equal opportunity to talk back. He's greatly knowledgeable in history. Don't take this class for an easy A. He will expect you to participate and talk when put on the spot. Midterm and final are easy and weakly response.

Comment:

The fact that HIST105 only goes up to the year 1500AD certainly didn't stop Alex from making the class about politics. He is very liberal and is not shy to voice his biased views. He says he is open to discussion and rebuttals, however I was too afraid to speak up since he controlled my grade. Also, he doesn't use Blackboard so have fun with grades

He is very knowledgeable. Mostly easy. A lot if reading--book sized readings per class. Extremely sarcastic... and not in a good way. Very disorganized, will randomly pick on you to answer things. Write down everything and memorize it--fill in the blank exams and pop quizzes on what you read. If you are absent, he will pick on you next time.

Pretty disorganized with his lectures, but overall his class class isn't that hard if you just show up for class and study. For world history,there are weekly writing assignments which aren't too bad if you read. The midterm and final are all fill in the blanks, but are all basic questions. He's nice so just ask for help if you need it.

Okay, if your in school to learn, he will teach you, it will be a very easy class, and you will get an A. If you are not there to at least get som education, you will probably not like his class. Btw. Political arguments are definitely going to happen in his classes.

His handwriting is completely illegible. So forget taking notes. Which is what his class is completely based on. Essay and fill in the blank tests. Didn't even crack the book open. I don't suggest taking him. He is very all over the place with his lectures. But he knows his stuff. Hard to get an A.

I couldn't stand his class. He just talked at us the whole time and expected us to remember every little word he said, and his handwriting is completely illegible. So forget taking notes. No study guides. You can't even guesstimate your grade because all he gives are checks, pluses, and minuses.

Uh, I don't know what anyone else is talking about because his class was really easy. If you read what is assigned, you'll do fine. His reviews aren't that great (he'll direct you to ask your classmates questions instead of answering them himself) but the tests are pretty easy.

Whoa. Knows his stuff but definitely wasn't organzied. Tests were essay and grading was arbitrary. Hard to get an A when expectations are not explained. His political views (far left) are obvious. He clearly loves history and knows a lot. If you're intersted in the subject it might be a good class to audit.

This teacher is very ridiculous. I wasn't a favorite of his, and everyone in the class could tell. Can handle things in a very unprofessional manner. His ideas and political views are very evident and he will not back down to any arguement. Unless you're a history major...stay away.

The class went through the settling of America to the Civil War super fast. There were SO many notes and so much information to remember. Writing assignment every Monday based on reading. 2 tests, mid-term, and final. Read, pay attention, study, and you'll be fine. Mr. Boulton is a nice guy, a hard liberal, but mostly respectful of your views.

class is an easy A. he gives writing assignments every monday to constitute for classwork grade. read the chapters and you'll do fine. midterm was soo easy. and i assume final will be just the same. he has a lot of knowledge, and does check for attendance. take thorough notes, and act like you care, you'll do great!
