The course I took was about making things, which was easy in my opinion, Roskin was helpful at the beginning, but letting students figure most things out on their own. Good for some, not for others. I liked it. He cracks jokes, isn't afraid to speak his mind, and manages to get a nice atmosphere in the room. Looked forward to his class. (FA014-02)

Comment:

Very funny and lenient professor. Doesn't care much about attendance, just wants students to complete projects before deadlines given. You get a lot of creative freedom in this class, not much teaching, but I enjoyed the class overall!

Funny guy, but funny doesnt help you work on your projects, i felt like the class was only there as a requirement and therefore he did not go very in depth in the project. art majors can handle a little mroe responsibility. I do with he was more clear in grading it didnt hurt me but itd be nice

I was so excited to take this class and it failed to meet my expectations in everyway. The class itself could have been fine if it was taught by a different teacher. He's a decent artist but a****ndous teacher.

The class itself is monumentally fun and interesting. I love the projects and learning how to work with metal. Roskin is a very funny guy but he's an unclear teacher. He doesn't tell students what an A looks like. States right off the bat that "he doesn't give A's". How can you say that without seeing someones work? Fun, but unfair.

Prof. Roskin is great - down to earth, laid back, he has an "open studio" policy where you don't even have to come during scheduled class time, you can come anytime during the school week and sign in, just keep up with the rest of the class as far as projects and you'll get an A like me! TAKE HIM!
